Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Oracle Hyperion Techno-Functional Consultant with a strong command of Financial Data Quality Management, Enterprise Edition (FDMEE)

and Business Content Store (BCS) Forecasting . This role sits at the intersection of Finance and IT, requiring not only deep technical expertise to resolve critical data pipeline issues (SAP-BCS) but also the functional acumen to generate complex financial reports (Forecast vs Actuals, CAPEX).

You will act as the primary bridge to the Finance Lead, translating business requirements into robust technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities

- Techno-Functional Solutioning & Support (FDMEE/BCS)
- Data Integration Management: Own the end-to-end data flow from source systems (specifically SAP ECC/S4HANA) to Hyperion BCS using FDMEE.
- Pipeline Troubleshooting: Proactively monitor and rapidly resolve basic to complex data pipeline issues, such as clogged or failed data loads from SAP to Hyperion, stalled integration scripts, or mapping failures.
- FDMEE Configuration: Manage FDMEE locations, import formats, data load rules, and multi-period mappings. Script custom logic in Jython/VBScript for data transformation within FDMEE.
- BCS Modelling: Configure and maintain BCS Forecast models, including dimension management, model structure updates,



and consolidation logic to support rolling forecasts and annual budgeting cycles.
- Financial Reporting & Analysis (Forecast vs Actuals)
- Forecast Analysis: Design and generate detailed monthly/quarterly “Forecast vs Actuals” variance reports, breaking down drivers by cost center, profit center, and account.
- CAPEX Reporting: Develop custom reports focusing on Capital Expenditure dimensions—tracking budget vs actual spend, commitment analysis, and project-wise depreciation forecasts.
- Data Querying: Write and optimize SQL/MAXL queries directly against the Essbase/Hyperion backend to perform ad-hoc data extraction, verify data integrity, and feed custom dashboards.
- Business Collaboration & Communication
- Finance Lead Partnership: Work hand-in-glove with the business’s Finance Lead to gather report specifications, clarify KPI definitions, and demonstrate system capabilities.
- Translation: Convert complex financial logic (e.g., allocation rules, CAPEX capitalization thresholds) into functional design documents and technical configurations.
- Governance: Ensure all reporting aligns with financial controls, audit trails, and end-user security protocols within the Hyperion suite.





Required Skills & Experience (Must-Have)

- 7+ years of proven experience in Oracle EPM/Hyperion suite.

- Mandatory Deep Dive
- FDMEE/Data Management: Expert-level knowledge in integrating ERP systems, specifically SAP (reading text files, connecting via adapters, understanding SAP GL extractors).
- BCS/Forecasting: Hands-on experience building and managing BCS Forecast models, including understanding of BCS table structures, status management, and scheduling.
- Techno-Functional Edge:
- Ability to perform SQL/MAXL scripting for data validation and custom report generation.
- Solid financial background to build Forecast vs Actuals reports and manage CAPEX dimensions (Asset Class, Cost Center, Internal Orders, Projects).
- Experience debugging technical errors (ODI/FDMEE logs) while understanding the functional business impact (e.g., "How does a failed CAPEX data load distort the monthly balance sheet forecast?").
- Communication: Exceptional spoken and written English skills, with proven experience presenting technical root-cause analyses to non-technical Finance Directors.

Preferred Skills (Good To Have)

- SAP Functional Knowledge: Understanding of SAP FI/CO tables (BSEG, COEP) and SAP month-end close processes.
- EPM Automations: Experience with EPM Automate or Groovy scripting for process optimization.
- Hyperion Planning/PBCS: Familiarity with ASO/BSO cubes and Calculation Manager rules.
