We are currently hiring Operation Theatre (OT) Nurse Ophthalmology for one of our clients.

Job Title: Operation Theatre (OT) Nurse Ophthalmology

Experience: 3-5 Years

Industry: Healthcare

Education: GNM or B.Sc. Nursing with a valid Nursing Council Registration (OT Certification is an added advantage)

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced OT Nurse with expertise in ophthalmic surgeries to assist surgeons during eye procedures, ensure OT readiness, maintain sterilization standards, and provide quality patient care before, during, and after surgery.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare the operation theatre for ophthalmic surgeries by ensuring all instruments, equipment, and consumables are sterile and available.
- Assist ophthalmologists during various eye surgeries, including cataract, retina, glaucoma, cornea, and LASIK procedures.
- Maintain strict aseptic and infection control protocols.
- Prepare patients for surgery and provide pre-operative and post-operative nursing care.
- Handle, count, and maintain microsurgical instruments and OT supplies.
- Operate and assist with ophthalmic OT equipment such as operating microscopes, phacoemulsification machines, vitrectomy systems, and sterilization equipment.




- Monitor patient vital signs during procedures and report any abnormalities.
- Maintain accurate OT records, surgical checklists, and documentation.
- Coordinate with surgeons, anesthetists, and OT technicians to ensure smooth surgical workflow.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, NABH standards (where applicable), and patient safety protocols.

Required Skills

- Sound knowledge of ophthalmic surgical procedures and OT protocols.
- Excellent understanding of sterilization and infection prevention practices.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced OT environment.
- Solid communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.

Preferred Attributes

- Experience in high-volume cataract surgery centres.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR/HIS).
- Willingness to work flexible shifts and during emergency procedures.
