Role & responsibilities

We are looking for a Kafka Application Support Engineer with strong experience in Apache / confluent Kafka, intermediate Linux administration, SQL, and scripting.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining Kafka-based applications and ensuring high availability and performance of the system.
Knowledge of Redis will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide L2/L3 support for Kafka-based applications and infrastructure
* Monitor Kafka clusters, brokers, topics, partitions, and consumer lag
* Troubleshoot production issues, including performance bottlenecks and data inconsistencies
* Perform Kafka configuration changes (ISR, replication, retention, etc.) as needed
* Work with development teams to resolve application-related issues
* Manage and support Linux-based environments (logs, processes, disk usage, etc.)




* Write and maintain shell/Python scripts for automation and operational tasks
* Execute SQL queries for data validation, analysis, and troubleshooting
* Support Redis caching layer, including monitoring and basic troubleshooting
* Participate in on-call support and handle incident management
* Ensure proper documentation of issues, resolutions, and procedures

Required Skills:
* Robust hands-on experience with Apache / confluent Kafka (cluster management, troubleshooting)
* Intermediate knowledge of Linux/Unix systems
* Good experience with SQL (queries, joins, performance basics)
* Understanding of Kafka concepts like ISR, partitions, replication, consumer groups
* Experience with monitoring tools (e.g.Dynatrace.)
* Experience with the Redis caching layer, including monitoring and basic troubleshooting
