Role Description As a News Intern at Attlas Wire, you will support the editorial team by researching stories, gathering background information, and monitoring key news sources and social platforms. You will assist in drafting news articles, short briefs, and scripts, and may help prepare content for digital publishing and broadcast-style segments. Day-to-day responsibilities can include fact-checking, organizing interview notes, contributing ideas during editorial meetings,
and helping with basic multimedia or social media tasks related to news coverage.
This is a part-time, remote role, offering flexibility while providing hands-on experience in digital journalism and newsroom workflows.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Writing and News Writing skills, with the ability to produce explicit, accurate, and engaging content on deadline.
Candidates should possess solid Communication and Broadcasting skills, including comfort with interviews, on-air or audio/video presentation, and collaborative work with editors and producers.
Candidates should possess robust Research skills, including sourcing information, verifying facts, and synthesizing complex topics into accessible summaries.
Candidates should possess familiarity with digital media tools and platforms, such as content management systems, social media, and basic audio/video or multimedia workflows.
Candidates should possess strong attention to detail, ethical judgment, and an interest in global affairs, business, technology, or public policy.
Enrollment in or completion of a program in journalism, communications, media studies, or a related field is preferred but not required.
