About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) to join our dynamic Technology Operations Center (TOC) in Pune. This role is pivotal in supporting Mizuho's IT infrastructure, specifically focusing on SQL Server platforms. As part of our mission control team, you will be responsible for providing Level 1 support for service alerts and incidents, ensuring the stability, performance, and security of critical database systems.

Your expertise will contribute to the real-time monitoring, incident management, and automation processes that underpin our 24/7 operations. This position offers an exciting prospect to work in a cutting-edge environment modeled on a mission control concept, delivering proactive support and continuous operational improvements. You will collaborate closely with US infrastructure teams, participate in shift rotations, and contribute to the ongoing enhancement of our database support functions.

The role demands a disciplined, detail-oriented approach with a focus on rapid incident resolution, documentation, and team collaboration.





Qualifications To succeed in this role, candidates must possess a strong background in SQL Server administration within a multinational environment. Relevant educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Engineering or a degree in Computer Science. Foundational certifications such as Microsoft SQL Server or Azure SQL fundamentals are preferred.

Candidates should demonstrate hands-on experience with supporting SQL Server environments across various deployment models, including on-premises, virtualized platforms (e.g., VMware), and cloud-based solutions like Azure SQL or SQL Server on cloud IaaS. Professional experience levels vary from Analyst (minimum 1 year), Associate (minimum 4 years), to Assistant Vice President (minimum 7 years), with corresponding expectations for technical proficiency, incident management, and operational leadership. Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, are essential.

Candidates must be reliable, detail-focused, and capable of following complex runbooks accurately. A strong team-oriented mindset, adaptability to shift work, and a proactive attitude toward learning and knowledge sharing are also critical.

Responsibilities - Provide Level 1 support for SQL Server database platforms, handling service alerts, incidents, and troubleshooting issues promptly and effectively.

- Support a rotating 24x7 shift schedule, including early, late, and overnight shifts, ensuring continuous coverage and operational readiness.
- Adhere strictly to operational procedures, runbooks, and policies, maintaining high standards of professionalism and accuracy during incident handling and shift handovers.
- Act as a first responder for database incidents,



executing recovery procedures, and ensuring rapid resolution to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with US infrastructure teams to review incidents, update runbooks, and implement process improvements.
- Monitor SQL Server health, including backup and restore operations, performance metrics, replication, and storage utilization.
- Perform root cause analysis for recurring issues, contributing to long-term resolution strategies and operational efficiency.
- Mentor junior team members and share knowledge to foster a learning environment within the team.
- Identify opportunities for process enhancements, including SLA adherence, incident reduction, and MTTR improvements.
- Maintain detailed documentation of incidents, support activities, and technical procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal standards.
- Develop and refine technical troubleshooting skills, including T-SQL scripting, performance tuning, and understanding high-availability configurations.
