About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) to join our dynamic Technology Operations Center (TOC) team at Mizuho Global Services in Pune. This pivotal role involves supporting Mizuho Americas’ IT infrastructure by managing and maintaining SQL Server environments across various deployment models, including on-premises, virtualized, and cloud platforms. As part of our mission control concept, you will be responsible for providing Level 1 support, incident management, and proactive monitoring to ensure the highest levels of database availability, performance, and security.

Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in SQL Server administration, with professional certifications and hands-on experience supporting complex database environments. Candidates should demonstrate excellent troubleshooting skills, a detail-oriented mindset, and the ability to work effectively within a global team.



Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Engineering or a degree in Computer Science, with foundational SQL Server certifications preferred.

Experience in a multinational corporate setting, familiarity with cloud-based SQL solutions, and knowledge of ITIL processes are highly advantageous.

Responsibilities Serve as the MSSQL DBA mission specialist within the Technology Operations Center, leading Level 1 support activities for service alerts and incidents related to SQL Server platforms.

Operate on a rotating 24x7 shift schedule, including early, late, and overnight shifts, to ensure continuous support and incident resolution.

Adhere strictly to operational protocols, runbooks, and procedures, maintaining high standards of professionalism, timeliness, and accuracy in incident handling.

Respond promptly to alerts, troubleshoot issues, and execute recovery procedures to minimize downtime and impact on business operations.

Collaborate with US Infrastructure teams for incident review, root cause analysis, and updates to operational runbooks, fostering a culture of continuous learning.

Document incident details thoroughly, including notes, actions taken, and follow-up requirements, ensuring clear communication during shift handovers.

Mentor junior team members and contribute to a knowledge-sharing environment, supporting ongoing skill development and operational excellence.

Identify opportunities for process improvements, including SLA adherence, incident reduction, and MTTR optimization,



based on service performance analysis.

Perform routine database maintenance tasks such as backups, restores, performance tuning, and health monitoring to ensure optimal database performance.

Monitor SQL Server alerts, job statuses, replication, storage utilization, and other performance metrics, proactively addressing potential issues.

Lead in-depth analysis of recurring incidents and unresolved performance bottlenecks, recommending corrective actions and best practices.

Maintain a comprehensive understanding of indexing strategies, storage management, and high-availability configurations like Always On and clustering solutions.
