Role Description The Mechanical Design Engineer will work full time on-site in the Pune District, contributing to the design and development of diagnostic devices and related hardware.

Responsibilities include creating and refining mechanical concepts, performing detailed design and machine design calculations, and developing 3D models and engineering drawings using CAD tools. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams (electronics, firmware, biosciences, and manufacturing) to ensure designs meet performance, safety, regulatory,



and cost requirements. The engineer will support prototype build, testing, and design iterations, troubleshoot mechanical issues, and prepare documentation for production transfer and quality control.

Participation in design reviews, continuous improvement initiatives, and close coordination with suppliers and fabrication partners is expected.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess solid skills in Design Engineering and Mechanical Engineering for medical devices or precision instruments.
- Candidates should possess solid skills in Machine Design, including mechanisms, materials selection, tolerance analysis, and structural integrity.
- Candidates should possess proven skills in Product Design, covering ergonomics, usability, manufacturability, and cost optimization.
- Candidates should possess proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, or similar) for 3D modeling and technical drawings.
- Relevant skills in prototyping, testing, and validation of mechanical assemblies, including hands-on work with lab and workshop tools.
- Understanding of medical device standards, design for manufacturing (DFM), and design for assembly (DFA) is beneficial.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work in cross-disciplinary teams.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
