Objective:
The Engineer M&E; supports the design, development, and optimization of manufacturing processes for flow meters and related products.
Working under the guidance of the Asst. Manager M&E;, this role provides hands-on process engineering support to Production, Quality, and Design teams.
The candidate is expected to develop proficiency in process documentation, tooling, and basic quality tools while building a foundation in flow measurement, calibration, and manufacturing operations.
Major Responsibilities:
Tooling, Jigs & Fixtures
- Assist in the design and development of jigs, fixtures, and easy tooling to improve process efficiency.
- Coordinate with internal teams and vendors during trials and validation of new tooling.
- Maintain and track the status of tooling and fixtures in use on the shop floor.
Process Support & Documentation
- Support the development and documentation of process flows, operation sequences, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) under guidance.
- Assist in preparing and maintaining manufacturing-related documents such as work instructions, controlplans, and process sheets.
- Ensure documentation is updated to reflect process changes and improvements.Production Floor Support
- Provide day-to-day engineering support to the Production team to resolve process-related issues anddeviations.
- Assist in analysing production data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for cycle time reduction.
- Support efficiency and waste elimination initiatives on the shop floor.
Quality & Continuous Improvement
- Participate in product trials,
process validation activities, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Assist in conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Support preparation of PFMEA and other quality documentation as directed.
Process Improvement & Lean
- Learn and apply basic Lean Manufacturing tools including 5S, line balancing, and Value Stream Mapping(VSM) under supervision.
- Assist in identifying process bottlenecks and inefficiencies and proposing corrective measures.
- Support NPD (New Product Development) activities from a manufacturing feasibility perspective.

Qualifications: •
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/ Industrial/ Instrumentation Engineering (BE/B.Tech)
- 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Freshers with strong internship/project exposure may be considered.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes (machining, sheet metal, assembly)
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD; exposure to SolidWorks is an advantage
- Awareness of GD&T;, engineering drawings, and inspection methods
- Basic exposure to quality tools: CAPA, FMEA concepts, 5S
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
