– Production Manager (Job Work / Subcontracting)

Purpose of the Role

To build, manage, and scale the job work (subcontracting) ecosystem for cushion and cover manufacturing by developing capable vendor partners, ensuring optimum production capacity, superior quality, inventory accuracy, and on-time deliveries while driving operational excellence, cost optimization, and business scalability.

Key Responsibilities

Vendor

Development &

- Capacity Planning

- Develop and build job work/vendor manufacturing capacity in line with business growth and production requirements.

- Identify, onboard, and develop job work vendors for both cushion and cover manufacturing.

- Ensure all in-house cushion and cover products are successfully developed and transferred to approved job work vendors for commercial production.

- Develop a hybrid vendor model capable of manufacturing both cushions and covers to balance seasonal demand and maximize capacity utilization.

- Create and maintain machine compatibility matrices for all cushion cover styles by mapping production requirements across single-needle and double-needle sewing machines, and plan vendor capacities accordingly.

- Continuously evaluate vendor capabilities and implement improvement plans for productivity, quality, and manufacturing efficiency.

Planning &

- Execution

- Monitor daily production output, manpower availability, and capacity utilization across all vendor locations to proactively identify risks and ensure uninterrupted production.

- Develop an Expediter Production Line by reserving approximately 20% dedicated vendor capacity for same-day production and shipment of urgent customer orders.

- Drive continuous improvement in vendor productivity, throughput, delivery performance, and operational efficiency through regular performance reviews.

3. Quality &
- Packaging

- Establish and manage a hybrid Quality Control (QC) and Packaging Team responsible for product inspection,



packaging, and dispatch readiness at vendor locations.

- Ensure all products dispatched from vendor facilities comply with company quality standards and customer specifications.

- Ensure accurate reconciliation of vendor production, quality approvals, and accepted quantities for error-free commercial settlements.

4. Inventory &
- Logistics Management

- Ensure 100% inventory reconciliation with all job work vendors by month-end with zero discrepancies.

- Plan and coordinate kit material inward and outward movement, ensuring vehicle scheduling aligns with SEZ authority approval timings and customer shipping cut-off timelines.

- Ensure uninterrupted material flow between the factory and vendor locations to eliminate production stoppages.

5. Commercial &
- Vendor Management

- Ensure timely processing of vendor invoices and payments.

- Maintain accurate production, inventory, and financial reconciliations to support transparent vendor settlements.

- Build long-term strategic partnerships with vendors and drive continuous improvement in quality, cost, delivery, responsiveness, and compliance.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

- Job work capacity developed vs. business requirement.

- Vendor on-time delivery performance.

- Vendor productivity and capacity utilization.

- First-pass quality acceptance at vendor locations.

- Expediter order fulfillment within committed timelines.

- Inventory reconciliation accuracy (100% month-end closure).

- Vendor payment accuracy and on-time payment.





- Material movement adherence to SEZ approvals and shipping cut-off timelines.

- Number of hybrid vendors developed for both cushions and covers.

- Annual cost savings and productivity improvements delivered through the job work network.

Preferred Candidate Profile

Education

- B.Tech / B.E. in Textile Engineering, Garment Technology, Apparel Technology, Technical Textiles, or an equivalent engineering discipline.

- Additional qualifications in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or Lean Manufacturing will be an added advantage.

Experience

- 10–15+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing operations, with significant exposure to job work/vendor management and production planning.

- Hands-on experience in one or more of the following industries:

- Technical Textiles

- Outdoor Products

- Protective Covers

- Furniture Covers

- Automotive Covers

- Home Furnishing Products

- Industrial Sewing Products

- Strong expertise in sewing engineering, production balancing, line setup, machine selection, capacity planning, and productivity improvement.

- Proven experience in developing and managing a large network of subcontractors/job work vendors.

- Experience in quality systems, inventory management, commercial reconciliation, and vendor performance management.

- Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Kaizen, 5S, and Continuous Improvementmethodologies is highly desirable.
