Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Assistant Manager / Managerto lead multidisciplinary engineering teams responsible for the design, development, validation, and successful delivery of indigenous marine electronic products.

The role demands strong technical leadership, project management expertise,



and people management capabilities to drive end-to-end product development while ensuring quality, regulatory compliance, and timely execution. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Hardware, Embedded Software, Mechanical Design, QA, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Customer Support to deliver innovative maritime solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Product Development & Engineering

- Lead the complete product development lifecycle from concept, architecture, design, development, testing, validation, manufacturing support, and product release.
- Drive the development of indigenous marine Navigation, Communication, and Automation products.
- Ensure products comply with international maritime standards, classification society requirements, and customer specifications.
- Review product architecture, technical designs, engineering documentation, and design changes.
- Drive continuous product innovation, performance improvements, and technology upgrades.

Project Execution

- Plan, execute, monitor, and successfully deliver multiple concurrent R&D; projects.
- Develop project schedules, resource plans, milestones, budgets, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Monitor project progress and proactively resolve technical and execution challenges.
- Ensure projects are delivered within scope, quality, budget, and timeline.
- Conduct regular project reviews and provide status updates to senior leadership.

People Leadership

- Lead, mentor and develop multidisciplinary engineering teams comprising Hardware, Embedded Software, Mechanical, PCB Design, Testing, and Systems Engineers.
- Allocate resources effectively across projects.
- Foster a high-performance, collaborative, and innovation-driven engineering culture.
- Conduct performance reviews, coaching,



capability development, and succession planning.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and competency development of engineering talent.

Cross Functional Collaboration

- Coordinate with customers, classification societies, defence stakeholders, OEMs and external technology partners wherever required.
- Support prototype demonstrations, customer acceptance tests, factory acceptance tests (FAT), and sea trials.

Quality & Compliance

- Ensure adherence to engineering best practices, documentation standards, configuration management, and change control.
- Support product certifications and compliance with marine industry regulations and standards.
- Drive engineering process improvements and implementation of quality management systems.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

- Identify emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions for future product development.
- Promote indigenous design initiatives, cost optimization, design standardization, and product modularity.
- Encourage research, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning within the engineering team.

Desired Candidate Profile: Education : B.E/M.E/B.Tech/M.Tech

Experience:

- 10–15 years of experience in product development, engineering or R&D.;
- Minimum 4–5 years of experience leading engineering teams and managing technical projects.
- Experience in marine electronics, defence electronics, industrial automation, embedded systems, navigation systems, communication systems or mission-critical products is highly preferred.
- Experience managing cross-functional product development projects from concept to commercialization.
