The Manager on Duty (MOD) is responsible for overseeing the hospital's day-to-day operations during assigned shifts, ensuring seamless coordination between clinical and non-clinical departments. The MOD ensures high standards of patient care, service excellence, safety, regulatory compliance, and prompt resolution of operational issues.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Management
- Supervise overall hospital operations during assigned shifts.
- Ensure smooth functioning of OPD, IPD, Emergency, ICU, OT, Diagnostics, Pharmacy, and Support Services.
- Coordinate with all department heads to resolve operational challenges.
- Ensure optimum utilization of hospital resources.
Patient Experience
- Handle patient and attendant concerns promptly and professionally.
- Resolve service recovery issues and escalate critical matters when required.
- Conduct regular patient rounds to monitor service quality.
- Ensure adherence to patient safety and service excellence standards.
Incident & Emergency Management
- Act as the hospital incident commander during emergencies until senior management arrives.
- Coordinate emergency response for fire, disaster, code blue, code red, mass casualty incidents, and other emergencies.
- Ensure proper documentation and reporting of all incidents.
Coordination
- Liaise with Medical Administration, Nursing,
Biomedical, Engineering, Housekeeping, Security, F&B;, and other departments.
- Ensure adequate staffing during shifts.
- Facilitate smooth communication among departments.
Administration
- Prepare shift reports highlighting operational issues, incidents, patient complaints, and corrective actions.
- Monitor bed occupancy and patient flow.
- Ensure timely escalation of critical operational issues.
Safety & Security
- Ensure hospital premises remain protected and secure.
- Coordinate with the Security team regarding VIP visits, medico-legal cases, and emergency situations.
- Monitor compliance with fire and safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Hospital Administration (MHA), MBA (Hospital/Healthcare Management), or equivalent.
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare, Nursing, Life Sciences, or related
