Role & responsibilities :
1. Strategic Procurement & Planning
- Support development and execution of procurement plans aligned with IWM operational goals
- Plan procurement for consumables, chemicals, spares, fuel, PPE, and waste handling services
- Assist in budgeting and cost optimization initiatives
- Contribute to value engineering and cost-saving measures
2. CAPEX & Equipment Procurement
- Support procurement of industrial waste management and treatment equipment such as:
- Incinerators and secondary combustion systems
- Scrubbers and air pollution control systems
- Boilers and heat recovery systems
- Shredders and waste preprocessing units
- Autoclaves and sterilization systems
- Material handling and storage systems for hazardous waste
- Float RFQs, manage tendering process, and collect quotations
- Assist in techno-commercial evaluation and preparation of comparative statements
- Review technical documents (PFD, P&ID;, GA drawings, specifications) with internal teams
- Support end-to-end CAPEX procurement cycle:
- Vendor coordination and negotiations
- Purchase order placement
- Tracking manufacturing and delivery timelines
- Coordination for FAT, installation, and commissioning
- Assist in handling turnkey/EPC procurement packages
3. Vendor Management & Contracting
- Identify and develop vendors for equipment,
chemicals, transportation, and site services
- Maintain vendor database and qualification records
- Support contract negotiations, pricing discussions, and service agreements
- Monitor vendor performance (delivery timelines, quality, compliance)
4. Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure vendors comply with environmental and safety regulations (Pollution Control Board norms, hazardous waste rules)
- Maintain procurement documentation for audits (ISO, internal, statutory)
- Ensure contracts include safety, environmental, and compliance clauses
- Support risk assessment in procurement activities
5. Operational Procurement
- Ensure timely conversion of Purchase Requisitions (PR) into Purchase Orders (PO)
- Track order status and ensure on-time delivery
- Monitor inventory levels to avoid stock-outs or excess inventory
- Coordinate closely with Operations, Engineering, EHS, and Finance teams
- Support emergency procurement requirements for plant operations
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical / Chemical / Environmental / Industrial Engineering
- 5-8 years of experience in procurement within industrial, waste management, or heavy engineering sectors
