The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting talent acquisition, employee experience, HR operations, and organisational culture, while partnering with academic and professional services teams to create an engaging, inclusive, and high-performing workplace.
Role Purpose
The HR Generalist will play a key role in supporting the employee lifecycle and ensuring the effective delivery of HR services across the campus. The role will partner with academic and professional services teams to provide operational HR support, drive employee engagement initiatives, ensure compliance with employment regulations, and contribute to building a positive workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities Recruitment & Onboarding
Coordinate end-to-end recruitment processes, including job postings, candidate screening, interview scheduling, and offer management.
Liaise with hiring managers and external recruitment partners to support talent acquisition activities.
Facilitate onboarding and induction programs for new employees.
Ensure completion of all joining documentation and compliance requirements.
Employee Lifecycle
Management
Maintain employee records and HR databases, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality.
Manage employee documentation, contract administration, probation reviews, confirmations, and employment changes.
Support offboarding activities, including exit interviews and final documentation. HR Operations & Compliance
Ensure compliance with applicable labour laws, university policies, and statutory requirements.
Assist in developing, reviewing, and implementing HR policies and procedures.
Support audits and maintain HR records for regulatory and internal compliance purposes.
Coordinate with payroll and finance teams to ensure accurate employee information and benefits administration.
Employee
Relations
Act as the first point of contact for employee/Faculty queries and HR-related matters.
Support grievance handling and employee relations processes.
Promote a positive employee experience through effective communication and engagement initiatives.
Assist managers in addressing performance and conduct-related matters.
Performance
Management & Learning
Support the performance review process, including tracking objectives, review cycles, and documentation.
Coordinate learning and development initiatives, workshops, and training programs.
Maintain training records and support organisational capability-building activities.
Employee
Engagement & Culture
Plan and coordinate employee engagement activities, wellness initiatives, and campus events.
Support diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives aligned with university values.
Contribute to building a collaborative and inclusive workplace culture. HR Reporting & Analytics
Prepare HR reports and dashboards relating to headcount, recruitment, attrition, and employee metrics.
Analyse HR data and provide insights to support decision-making.
Maintain HR information systems and reporting tools.
Qualifications & Experience Essential
Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related discipline
4–7 years of progressive HR experience in a generalist role
Strong understanding of Indian labour laws and HR best practices
Experience managing employee lifecycle processes and HR operations
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and confidentiality Desirable
Master's degree or Postgraduate qualification in Human Resources
Experience in the higher education, professional services, or multinational environment
Familiarity with HRIS systems and HR analytics Competencies
