Job Title: Manager EV Powertrain

Department: R&D; Electrical, Electronics & Embedded Reporting To: Head R&D; EE Education Qualification: B.Tech / M.Tech Experience: 10 14 Years

Key Responsibilities

Lead prototype activities including specification finalization, CAD packaging, and horizontal deployment.

Develop scalable motor and Motor Control Unit (MCU) solutions for rapid adaptation and deployment.

Spec optimization through winding variation and rare earth material usage

Oversee schematic design, BOM finalization, DFMEA, and layout development.

Monitor technological trends and support marketing teams with comparative vendor analysis.

Work extensively on PMSM and BLDC motors, perform MCU tuning and calibration to meet speed and torque requirements.

Drive VAVE (Value Analysis & Value Engineering) initiatives and define continuous improvement roadmaps.

Technical Skills & Competencies

Strong understanding of EV powertrain integration challenges and proactive process design.

Experience implementing critical features and safety requirements in product development.

Support vehicle integration and resolve quality-related issues.

Prior team management and recruitment experience.

Knowledge of AIS regulations, EMI/EMC compliance, HV cable crimping and wire gauge selection, and IP67 standards.





Skilled in CAD component packaging using best design practices.

Hands-on experience in prototype trials, design iteration, and documentation management.

Basic understanding of CAN protocol and matrix creation.

Risk assessment and mitigation planning for recent designs.

Familiarity with quality tools (e.g., FMEA, 5 Whys, Fishbone analysis).

Develop test rigs and fixtures for both load and no-load simulations.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (CFTs) for smooth electrical system integration.

Coordinate across departments for schedule control, task tracking, and reviews.

Perform root cause analysis and countermeasure development for aftermarket issues.

Create and manage engineering BOMs, including updates through formal change notices.

Benchmark global trends and propose Kaizen improvements.

Estimate engineering costs and evaluate implementation feasibility of proposals.
