- Total Machine Ownership: Oversee the comprehensive maintenance, upkeep, and operational readiness of all plant machinery and production equipment.
- Breakdown Reduction: Implement tactical engineering solutions and root cause analysis to continuously reduce machine breakdowns and unplanned downtime.
- Technician Supervision: Delegate daily repair tasks and provide technical supervision to maintain smooth factory operations.
2. Preventive Maintenance Strategy
- Preventive Program Management: Execute and supervise the preventive maintenance program for all factory machinery to ensure prolonged equipment lifespan
- Scheduling & Compliance: Design, schedule, and enforce the Preventive Maintenance Schedule across all production lines to prevent operational bottlenecks.
3. Vendor Management & Cost Control
- Sourcing & Quotations: Coordinate with external suppliers and vendors to request, review, and evaluate technical and commercial quotations
- Commercial Negotiation: Lead contract negotiations with suppliers to secure competitive pricing for parts, engineering services, and raw materials.
- Budget & Cost Reduction: Actively monitor, control, and reduce the overall maintenance department expenses and repair costs
- 4. Inventory, Tooling & Asset Records
- Spares Management: Track and maintain optimum inventory stock levels for mechanical and electrical spare parts.
- Die & Tooling Stocks: Ensure the strict availability, storage, and material management of all production dies and tooling equipment.
- ISO Audit Compliance: Systematically document and maintain equipment logs, history cards, and compliance records required for ISO quality audits.
5. Team Leadership & Technical Training
- Workforce Mentorship: Conduct technical training and guidance sessions for mechanical and electrical technicians.
- Shift & Emergency Operations: Structure shifts, assign duties, and lead technical teams through standard shift routines as well as emergency breakdown responses.
6. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) The performance of the Maintenance Manager will be strictly evaluated based on the delivery of the following plant metrics:
- MTTR (Mean Time To Repair): Minimizing the average time taken to fix system failures and restore production.
- MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures): Maximizing the average operational lifespan of equipment between unexpected breakdowns.
- OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness): Enhancing the combined score of machine availability, performance efficiency, and output quality.
