Role & responsibilities

- Provide L2/L3 production support for critical mainframe applications

- Analyze and resolve application abends, DB2 issues, and CICS/IMS failures

- Develop, maintain, and enhance programs using COBOL, JCL, and DB2

- Monitor batch jobs, perform restart/recovery, and optimize performance

- Support and manage online transactions using CICS and IMS DC

- Conduct impact analysis for production issues and application changes

- Implement minor and major enhancements based on business requirements

- Coordinate with upstream and downstream teams during incidents and releases

- Participate in code reviews, release management, and deployment activities

- Perform root cause analysis and ensure timely resolution within SLA timelines

- Support incident management and ensure system stability and availability

Preferred candidate profile

- 3 - 5 years of experience in mainframe development and support

- Robust hands-on expertise in COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, and IMS (DB/DC)





- Proficient in SQL, DB2 performance tuning, and utilities

- Experience with VSAM datasets and batch/online processing environments

- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills in production environments

- Experience with incident management and production support tools

- Good understanding of job scheduling, batch cycles, and recovery processes

- Exposure to application enhancement and maintenance projects

Good to Have:

- Experience in mainframe modernization or migration initiatives

- Familiarity with DevOps practices or automation in mainframe environments

Soft Skills:

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

- Effective communication and cross-team coordination skills

- Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks

- Good documentation and stakeholder management skills
