Role & responsibilities
Business Development Manager Cables & Wires
Drive new business acquisition across target sectors, including Infrastructure, Real Estate, Renewable Energy (Solar/Wind), Utilities, Manufacturing, and Data Centers.
Establish and grow strategic relationships with EPC Contractors, OEM Manufacturers, Panel Builders, Government Bodies, and Institutional Buyers.
Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation, product presentation, and commercial negotiations to final deal execution and payment terms.
Channel Partner N/W Establishment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Revenue Generated: Total value of new business deals closed vs. annual quota.
Pipeline Value: Total value of active qualified leads in the sales funnel.
Specification Approvals: Number of consultant approvals/specifications secured for the brand.
Client Acquisition: Number of new key accounts (EPCs, OEMs, Distributors) onboarded.
Identify upcoming greenfield/brownfield projects and maintain an active national/regional prospect pipeline.
Track sales funnel metrics, update customer activity in CRM software, and maintain accurate revenue forecasting.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
B.E/ B.Tech (Electrical), preferably MBA/ PGDM (Marketing)
WORK EXPERIENCE
8 -10 years of proven B2B sales/business development experience in the Wire & Cable or Electrical Capital Equipment industry in n Technical Sales / PreSales / Business Development
MARKET INTELLIGENCE
Monitor competitor activities, product launches, pricing trends,
and regulatory changes in the electrical cable sector.
Identify emerging cable categories (e.g., EHV/HT cables, Solar PV cables, Fire-Resistant LSZH cables, Special Industrial Wires) to capitalize on market demand.
PREFERRED/ ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT
Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of cable specifications (LV, MV, HV, EHV, Control/Instrumentation, Solar, Fire-Resistant, etc.) and industry standards (IEC, UL, IEEE, IS).
Network: Established network of contacts among MEP consultants, EPC contractors, and key industrial decision-makers.
Soft Skills: Excellent negotiation, relationship-building, and communication skills. Solid presentation capabilities.
Tools: Proficiency in CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Zoho), MS Excel, and presentation tools.
