? Hiring: Technical Head — Architectural Lighting (Ahmedabad)

KRAF is a premium, Chennai-based architectural lighting brand, expanding our presence across Gujarat and Daman through our exclusive regional distribution partner. We're building a specification-led operation targeting architects, interior designers, PMCs, lighting consultants, and hospitality developers and we need someone who can own the technical side of that completely.

What we need is the person who walks into a lighting consultant's office with a DIALux file, answers the photometric questions, and makes sure what gets specified actually gets installed correctly. What you'll actually be doing:

Running lighting design consultations with architects and lighting consultants translating project briefs into specific product recommendations, three-layer lighting layouts, and BOQs

Producing DIALux simulations and photometric submissions for projects that need lux calculations before a spec gets confirmed

Handling every technical objection in the sales process like beam angles, UGR ratings, CRI requirements, IP specifications, driver compatibility, control system integration so the BD team can close

Specifying and explaining control systems to clients like Casambi app-based control, DALI, 1-10V, Phase Dim and advising on integration with KNX and BMS where hospitality developers need it

Commissioning Casambi scenes on completed installations and supporting electricians on site for complex projects

Conducting client handovers training homeowners, hotel facility teams, and retail staff to actually use what they've bought

Troubleshooting post-installation like driver faults, dimming incompatibilities, control conflicts so problems get resolved without the project going sour Who we need:

2–5 years in architectural lighting,



lighting design, MEP consulting, or smart building systems in Gujarat where you've been on the technical side of real projects, not the periphery of them

Hands-on DIALux experience you've actually run simulations and submitted photometric reports, not just watched someone else do it

Solid working knowledge of LED fundamentals: lumens, lux, CRI, UGR, CCT, beam angles, IP ratings, driver specifications enough to hold a detailed conversation with a lighting consultant without bluffing

Working familiarity with Casambi or DALI you can set up a basic scene and explain the difference between the two to a client who's never heard either term

Able to read architectural drawings and electrical layouts, you need to understand what you're specifying into before recommending it

Comfortable in client-facing situations this is not a back-room role. You'll be in architect meetings, on site, and in front of hospitality developers regularly Nice to have:

Experience with KNX or BMS integration on hospitality or large residential projects

Prior work with a premium lighting brand or distributor in a technical or pre-sales capacity

Existing relationships with MEP consultants, lighting designers, or electrical contractors in Ahmedabad Compensation: Negotiable, based on experience, fixed base plus performance-linked incentive tied to projects successfully specified and converted. Open to discussing structure with the right person.

Location: Ahmedabad (on-ground role, travel across Gujarat and Daman as needed)
