Role Description The Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) is a full-time, in office role based at DRBCCC Hindu College in Chennai. This role focuses on supporting students’ psychosocial wellbeing through individual counseling, group sessions, crisis intervention, and referrals to appropriate external services when needed. The LMSW will collaborate with college committees such as student grievance and women’s grievance redressal cells, contributing professional input on policies, prevention programs, and awareness initiatives.

Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting assessments, maintaining confidential records,



developing intervention plans, and coordinating with faculty, administration, and families to address academic, behavioral, and social challenges. The role also involves organizing workshops on mental health, life skills, and social awareness, participating in campus outreach programs, and contributing to data-driven improvements in student support services.

Qualifications Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution, with current licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Licensed Master Social Worker as per applicable regulations.

Demonstrated experience in counseling and psychosocial support for adolescents or young adults in educational or community settings.

Strong skills in psychosocial assessment, case management, crisis intervention, and referral coordination.

Ability to design and deliver workshops or group programs on mental health, life skills, gender sensitization, and social awareness.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills, with a commitment to confidentiality and ethical practice.

Capacity to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including faculty, administrators, and external agencies.

Knowledge of relevant laws, policies, and best practices related to student welfare, safeguarding, and grievance redressal.

Proficiency in English and local languages (such as Tamil) is highly beneficial, along with cultural sensitivity to diverse student backgrounds.
