Key Responsibilities - Teaching & Curriculum Development: Delivering lectures, seminars, and advanced courses on sociological theories and methods. They are responsible for designing and updating course materials and curricula.
- Research & Publication: Engaging in independent research, publishing books or articles in reputable sociological journals, and presenting findings at conferences. Sustained research output is usually required, often including at least 2 peer-reviewed publications every 3 years.
- Mentorship & Supervision: Guiding undergraduate and graduate students in research, and supervising PhD and Master’s dissertations.
- Academic Service & Leadership: Participating in departmental and university committees, contributing to academic administration,
and taking leadership roles in accreditation or special projects.
- Grant Acquisition: Seeking external funding and grants to support research initiatives.
- University of Oxford +7 Required Qualifications & Skills - Education: A Ph.D. in Sociology/ Social Work or a closely related social science field.
- Experience: Fresher to 8+ years of experience in teaching or research, typically following a tenure-track Assistant Professor position.
- Record of Excellence: A proven track record of published research and teaching excellence.
