Responsibilities

- Develop comprehensive validation and verification test plans based on product requirements, design specifications, and applicable industry standards.
- Perform functional, performance, electrical, thermal, environmental, endurance, and reliability testing for Solid State Transfer Switch (STS) products.
- Plan and execute type tests, design verification tests (DVT), product validation tests (PVT), and production qualification tests.
- Conduct electrical safety tests including dielectric withstand (Hi-Pot), insulation resistance, grounding continuity, leakage current, and protection verification.
- Perform transfer performance testing including transfer time, synchronization, source sensing, overload capability, fault transfer, and recovery validation.
- Validate system performance under abnormal operating conditions such as overload, short circuit, source failure, phase loss, phase reversal, voltage imbalance, frequency variation, and fault conditions.
- Coordinate third-party certification testing and ensure compliance with standards such as UL 1008S, UL 508A, IEC 60947, IEC 62040, IEEE, and other customer-specific requirements.
- Design and develop test procedures, test fixtures, automation scripts, and data acquisition systems to improve testing efficiency and repeatability.
- Analyse test data, identify failures, perform root cause analysis (RCA), and work with design teams to implement corrective actions.
- Prepare detailed test reports, validation summaries, non-conformance reports, and certification documentation.
- Support prototype builds, engineering sample evaluations, factory acceptance testing (FAT), and customer witness testing when required.
- Verify product reliability through endurance, thermal cycling, life cycle,



and accelerated stress testing.
- Ensure calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment, instruments, and test setups.
- Participate in design reviews, DFMEA, PFMEA, and risk assessment activities by providing testability and reliability feedback.
- Drive continuous improvement of laboratory processes, testing methodologies, automation, and safety practices.
- Mentor junior test engineers and technicians while promoting engineering best practices.

Qualifications

- University degree in Engineering in Electronics / Electricals.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in Electrical Testing role.
- Customer oriented and availability to travel.
- Ability to work in a quick-paced and dynamic environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Good communication skills in English.
- Must have good planning, organizing, documentation and communication skills.
- Must be able to lead and coordinate project tasks with other engineering teams globally.

Preferred Skills

- Hands-on experience testing SCR-based Solid State Transfer Switches or UPS systems.
- Knowledge of power quality analysers, oscilloscopes, thermal imaging cameras, power analyzers, data acquisition systems, and EMC test equipment.
- Knowledge of CE, UL & CAS standards.
- Experience in EMC/EMI compliance and testing.
- Experience with automated test systems and scripting using LabVIEW, Python, MATLAB,



or similar tools.
- Understanding of reliability engineering, HALT/HASS, environmental testing, and accelerated life testing.
- Exposure to ERP/PLM systems and engineering change management processes.

Physical & Environmental Demands

- Standing and Walking: The role requires frequent standing and walking around the production floor while assembly of proto units and training sessions.
- Manual Dexterity: Occasional use of hands and fingers to handle or feel products, tools, or controls, especially during product testing and reviews.
- Lifting: The ability to lift and move objects up to 25 pounds may be required.
- Visual Acuity: Close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus are necessary for inspecting product assembly and detecting defects.
- Hearing: Ability to hear alarms, machinery sounds, and communication from team members in a noisy production environment.
- Manufacturing Environment: The position is based in a manufacturing setting with exposure to moving mechanical parts, vibration, and occasional loud noise.
- Temperature Variations: Exposure to varying temperatures within the assembly area, which may include non-climate-controlled spaces.
- Protective Equipment: Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Gloves, and Ear Protection may be required.
- Travel of >20%. may be required to supplier sites, customer locations, or other company facilities.
