We are seeking a seasoned, strategic Lead Manufacturing Engineering with 15 to 20 years of hands-on technical and leadership experience to direct end-to-end process planning, current product industrialization, quality improvements, and customer technical interface.
The ideal candidate will bridge customer expectations with shop-floor executionleading process design, driving zero-defect quality initiatives, mastering PPAP/APQP frameworks, managing Engineering Change Notices (ECN), and serving as the primary technical partner in customer engagements.
Job Responsibilities
1. Process Planning & Industrialization
- Direct macro and micro process planning for complex precision engineering components, castings, forgings, and assemblies.
- Develop, validate, and optimize Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), Control Plans, and Operation Process Sheets (OPS).
- Lead cycle time estimation, fixture design review, tooling selection, and CNC programming strategy to ensure optimized cycle times and targeted manufacturing costs.
- Establish standard operating procedures (SOPs) and line layouts utilizing Lean Manufacturing principles (VSM, Line Balancing, Cell Design).
1. Customer Technical Interface & Technical Discussions
- Lead customer technical discussions during RFQ stages, feasibility studies, DFM (Design for Manufacturability), and technical gate reviews.
- Serve as the single point of contact for customer engineering teams on technical clarifications, design changes, and manufacturing constraints.
- Co-chair joint technical reviews and project milestone tracking meetings with domestic and global OEM/Tier-1 clients.
1. APQP & PPAP Documentation
- Drive complete Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)
and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) lifecycle up to Level 5 submission/approval.
- Formulate robust PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), ensuring lessons learned and historical defect data are integrated.
- Oversee MSA (Measurement System Analysis), Capability Studies , and initial sample submissions (ISIR) in alignment with customer-specific requirements (IATF 16949 / AS9100).
1. ECN (Engineering Change Notice) Control & Implementation
- Establish and govern the plant-wide ECN / ECO (Engineering Change Order) management process.
- Evaluate cost, tooling, cycle time, and inventory impacts of customer-driven or internal design/process changes.
- Ensure seamless cut-over of process modifications without line stoppages or mixed-stock contamination across production, quality, and supply chain.
1. Process & Quality Improvements
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives (Kaizen, Six Sigma projects) to enhance process capability, reduce scrap/rework, and boost overall OEE.
- Lead yield improvement programs and cost-out/VA-VE (Value Analysis / Value Engineering) initiatives.
- Implement error-proofing (Poka-Yoke) solutions at high-risk process stations identified through risk analysis.
1. Production & Quality Cross-Functional Alignment
- Partner actively with Shop-Floor Production and Quality Assurance teams to investigate internal rejections and resolve customer complaints (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone Analysis).
- Implement permanent corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) into revised control plans, PFMEAs, and standard work instructions.
- Conduct regular gemba walks with production leads to validate standard work adherence and address technical roadblocks.
