Job Title: Lab Assistant – Pharma & Research

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Lab Assistant to support practical laboratory sessions, research activities, and laboratory operations within the Department of Pharmacy and Research. The candidate will assist faculty members, researchers, and students by ensuring laboratory readiness, equipment maintenance, chemical handling, and compliance with laboratory safety standards. Typical responsibilities include preparing reagents, maintaining laboratory equipment, documenting activities, and supporting experiments under supervision.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare laboratories before practical sessions and research experiments. Assist faculty and research scholars during laboratory practicals and research activities. Prepare chemicals, reagents, solutions, and laboratory materials as per SOPs. Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment. Maintain laboratory inventory, stock registers, and consumables. Ensure proper labeling, storage, and disposal of chemicals and samples.

Follow Good Laboratory

Practices (GLP) and laboratory safety guidelines. Maintain records of experiments, equipment calibration, and laboratory documentation.



Coordinate procurement of laboratory chemicals, glassware, and consumables. Ensure cleanliness, organization, and readiness of laboratory facilities. Report equipment malfunctions and coordinate maintenance. Support accreditation, audits, and compliance-related documentation when required.

Skills

Sound knowledge of pharmaceutical laboratory practices. Basic understanding of GLP and laboratory safety protocols. Knowledge of laboratory instruments and analytical equipment. Positive documentation and record-keeping skills. Computer proficiency in MS Office. Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills. Attention to detail and ability to work independently.

Preferred

Experience

Experience in academic, pharmaceutical, research, or analytical laboratories. Familiarity with laboratory documentation and inventory management. Exposure to analytical instruments such as UV-Visible Spectrophotometer, HPLC, Dissolution Apparatus, and related pharmaceutical laboratory equipment will be preferred. Qualification

B.Pharm is Mandatory M.Pharm will be an added advantage. Freshers with good laboratory knowledge may apply. 1–3 years of relevant laboratory experience preferred.
