We are looking for a Junior Knowledge Graph Engineer to support the design, development, and maintenance of semantic knowledge graphs for pharmaceutical data and document lifecycle management.

The role involves working with ontologies, RDF data models, SPARQL queries, and metadata structures to improve traceability, interoperability, and information retrieval across the product development lifecycle.

This is an ideal role for someone with a strong foundation in semantic technologies and an interest in life sciences, data standards, and knowledge engineering.

- Develop and maintain RDF-based knowledge graphs.
- Write, optimize, and troubleshoot SPARQL queries for data retrieval and analytics.
- Support ontology modeling and extension using OWL and related standards.
- Map and integrate structured and semi-structured source data into graph models.
- Create and validate data constraints using SHACL.
- Maintain provenance and lineage models for document and data traceability.
- Support knowledge graph use cases across pharmaceutical development stages.
- Collaborate with domain experts to model business concepts, processes, and relationships.
- Document ontology structures, query libraries, and KG design decisions. ❖ REQUIRED SKILLS
- Good hands-on experience with SPARQL.
- Strong understanding of RDF, RDFS, and OWL.
- Familiarity with ontology modeling principles.
- Experience using Protégé.




- Basic understanding of SHACL.
- Understanding of graph reasoning and inference.
- Knowledge of provenance modeling (e.g., PROV-O).
- Ability to understand complex information models and translate them into semantic representations. ❖ PREFFERED SKILLS
- Exposure to pharmaceutical data standards (IDMP, SPL, Allotrope, Pistoia Alliance ontologies).
- Experience with GraphDB, Stardog, or Apache Jena.
- Familiarity with document lifecycle, metadata, and regulatory data.
- Understanding of FAIR data principles.
- Experience in bioinformatics, cheminformatics, or life sciences data. ❖ NICE TO HAVE
- Exposure to knowledge graph + RAG architectures.
- Basic Python for data transformation.
- Familiarity with Git and collaborative workflows.

- Model relationships between deliverables, functions, owners, and development stages.
- Build query templates for document dependency analysis.
- Map IDMP-O concepts to internal document/process structures.
