We are seeking an experienced Python Architect to lead the architecture, design, and evolution of next-generation sports coaching and athlete performance platforms. This role will drive enterprise-scale backend architecture, cloud-native modernization, platform engineering, and data-driven product innovation.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture & Technology Strategy

- Define and drive the overall backend and platform architecture roadmap.
- Design scalable, cloud-native, event-driven architectures supporting millions of user interactions and real-time data processing.
- Establish architectural principles, design patterns, engineering standards, and governance processes.
- Lead technical evaluations, technology selection, architecture reviews, and proof-of-concepts.
- Create architecture blueprints, reference architectures, and technical standards.

Platform & Solution Design

- Architect large-scale distributed systems using Python ecosystems such as FastAPI, Django/DRF, Flask, and emerging technologies.
- Design high-performance microservices, APIs, integration frameworks, and multi-tenant SaaS platforms.
- Develop solutions supporting real-time telemetry, athlete performance tracking, coaching recommendations, and analytical dashboards.
- Define strategies for scalability, disaster recovery, business continuity, and high availability.

Data Architecture

- Design enterprise-grade data platforms utilizing:
- PostgreSQL
- MySQL
- MongoDB
- DynamoDB
- Elasticsearch
- Redis
- Time-series databases
- Establish data governance, indexing, partitioning, sharding, caching, and retention strategies.
- Drive architectural decisions around data lakes,



analytics platforms, and ML feature stores.

Cloud & Infrastructure Leadership

- Architect solutions across AWS, Azure, or GCP ecosystems.
- Design containerized and Kubernetes-based platforms using:
- Docker
- Kubernetes (EKS/AKS/GKE)
- Service Mesh technologies
- Lead Infrastructure-as-Code strategies using Terraform and CloudFormation.
- Define enterprise CI/CD standards and DevSecOps practices.

Event-Driven & Streaming Systems

- Architect streaming and asynchronous platforms using:
- Kafka
- RabbitMQ
- AWS Kinesis
- Google Pub/Sub
- Design resilient messaging systems supporting low-latency athlete telemetry and analytics workloads.
- Implement CQRS, Event Sourcing, and domain-driven architectures where applicable.

Security & Compliance

- Establish secure architecture frameworks aligned with OWASP standards.
- Drive implementation of:
- OAuth2
- OIDC
- JWT
- Encryption standards
- Secrets management
- API security practices
- Lead threat modeling, architecture risk assessments, and compliance initiatives.

Performance & Reliability Engineering

- Define platform reliability standards including SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets.
- Architect observability solutions using:
- OpenTelemetry
- Prometheus
- Grafana
- ELK/EFK
- Sentry
- Lead performance tuning, capacity planning, and resiliency engineering efforts.

Technical Leadership

- Mentor senior engineers, technical leads, and development teams.
- Lead architecture review boards and design governance meetings.
- Drive technical roadmaps aligned with business objectives.
- Collaborate with executive leadership on technology strategy and investment planning.




- Influence engineering culture through best practices and innovation.

AI/ML & Analytics Enablement

- Partner with Data Science teams to architect scalable ML platforms.
- Design systems supporting:
- Recommendation engines
- Athlete insights
- Predictive analytics
- Computer vision solutions
- Model serving infrastructures
- Enable integration with SageMaker, Vertex AI, Azure ML, and similar platforms.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 12+ years of software development experience.
- 8+ years of hands-on Python development experience.
- 5+ years in Solution Architect, Technical Architect, or Principal Engineer roles.
- Deep expertise in designing enterprise-grade distributed systems.
- Strong experience with Python frameworks including FastAPI, Django/DRF, and Flask.
- Extensive experience designing REST and GraphQL APIs.
- Strong understanding of:
- Microservices Architecture

- Expertise with relational and NoSQL databases.

- Exposure to wearable integrations, IoT platforms, BLE communications, and streaming analytics.
- Experience with AI/ML architecture and model-serving platforms.
- Knowledge of data mesh, lakehouse architectures, and contemporary analytics ecosystems.
- Experience building subscription, payment, and entitlement systems.
- Contributions to open-source projects, technical communities, or architecture forums.
