We are seeking an experienced Java Support Engineer with a strong background in enterprise applications and hands-on experience in the insurance domain. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing production support, troubleshooting issues, analyzing root causes, and ensuring high availability and performance of critical insurance applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide L2 and L3 production support for Java-based insurance applications.
- Troubleshoot application issues by reviewing logs, debugging code, and analyzing data flows.
- Perform root cause analysis for recurring problems and propose long-term solutions.
- Work closely with development teams to fix defects, optimize performance, and support new deployments.
- Monitor application performance and ensure adherence to service-level agreements.
- Handle incident management, problem management, and change management processes.
- Support integration interfaces such as APIs, web services, messaging queues, and external partner systems.
- Coordinate with business teams to understand functional issues and provide timely resolutions.
- Maintain documentation for support processes,
knowledge base articles, and technical configurations.
- Participate in release validation, smoke testing, and workplace verification.
Required Skills and Experience
- Three to five years of experience in Java or Java-based application support.
- Solid understanding of Core Java, JDBC, Servlets, JSP, or Spring framework components.
- Hands-on experience in debugging Java applications and analyzing logs using tools like Splunk or Kibana.
- Robust SQL skills with experience in relational databases such as Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
- Experience with REST or SOAP based web services.
- Familiarity with build and deployment tools such as Maven, Jenkins, or Git.
- Experience working in production support environments with ticketing tools such as JIRA or ServiceNow.
- Strong understanding of insurance domain workflows such as policy management, claims, underwriting, or billing.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with microservices architecture or Spring Boot.
- Working knowledge of Linux or Unix based environments.
- Awareness of cloud platforms like AWS or Azure.
- Understanding of enterprise integration patterns or messaging systems like Kafka or ActiveMQ
