Role Description The ISO 27001 Information Security Officer is a part-time, remote role responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the organization’s Information Security Management System (ISMS) in line with ISO 27001 requirements. This role includes conducting risk assessments, defining security controls, and coordinating internal audits to ensure continuous compliance and improvement. The officer will create and maintain security policies and procedures, provide guidance on data privacy and cybersecurity practices,



and collaborate with stakeholders to address security incidents and vulnerabilities.

Day-to-day activities involve monitoring security performance, preparing compliance documentation and reports, supporting business continuity planning, and delivering security awareness training across the organization. Qualifications

Strong expertise in Information Security Management and ISO 27001-compliant Information Security Management Systems (ISMS).

Demonstrated experience in Cybersecurity, including threat identification, risk mitigation, and incident response.

Knowledge of Data Privacy principles, regulations, and best practices for handling sensitive information.

Experience with Business Continuity planning, including development and testing of continuity and disaster recovery procedures.

Relevant certifications such as ISO 27001 Lead Implementer/Lead Auditor, CISSP, CISM, or equivalent are highly beneficial.

Ability to interpret security standards and regulations, and translate them into practical policies and controls.

Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a remote workplace.

Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, IT, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
