Role & responsibilities:

- repare the operating theatre, instruments, and surgical team for procedures.

- Assist surgeons during operations as a scrub or circulating nurse.

- Ensure strict adherence to aseptic and sterile techniques at all times.

- Monitor patient vitals and condition during pre-op, intra-op, and post-op phases.

- Verify patient identity, consent, surgical site, and procedure before surgery (surgical safety checklist).

- Handle surgical instruments, sponges, and sutures with precision and accuracy.

- Maintain accurate and complete OT records and nursing documentation.

- Safely count and track surgical items to prevent retained instruments.

- Manage OT supplies, instruments, and equipment, and report malfunctions promptly.

- Coordinate with anesthesia, surgical, and recovery teams to ensure seamless patient care.

- Adhere to all hospital protocols, infection control practices, and quality standards.
