Role Summary The Interior Designer owns the design-to-quotation pipeline at Renewit turning a client brief into a buildable, accurately costed proposal across all four product lines, and staying involved through execution handover so the design intent survives contact with the site. This is the second designer role at Renewit, working alongside the Design Head as the company scales its Q1 hiring.
Key Responsibilities
Meet with clients (in person or virtual) to understand requirements, budget, and timeline across Renewit's four product lines — Modular Core, Full Home, Renovation + Interiors, and Commercial Fitout.
– Translate client briefs into design concepts, layouts, and visuals (2D/3D as needed) that are both buildable and on-budget.
– Prepare accurate quotations and BOQs using Renewit's standard template, within the 4-working-hour turnaround SLA.
– Select materials, finishes, and brands in line with the approved material library, balancing client preference with cost and lead time.
– Conduct or coordinate site measurements and site visits as required to firm up designs and BOQs.
– Coordinate design handover with the Project Manager and Site Supervisor — drawings, specifications, and material lists complete and unambiguous before execution starts.
– Manage client-requested design revisions efficiently, aiming to keep revision cycles within the target set for the role.
– Maintain organised design documentation: drawings, specification sheets, material lists, and client sign-offs for every project.
– Support the sales process by presenting design concepts persuasively to prospective clients during the consultation and quotation stage.
– Stay current on design trends, materials, and modular systems, and contribute to periodic design-standard and material-library reviews with the Design Head.
Qualifications & Skills
– Bachelor's degree or diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
– 2–5 years of experience in residential and/or commercial interior design, ideally including modular furniture and fit-out work.
– Working proficiency in AutoCAD and a 3D visualisation tool (SketchUp, 3ds Max, or equivalent), plus MS Office / Google Workspace.
– A portfolio demonstrating range across design styles, budgets, and project types.
– Solid working knowledge of materials, finishes, modular systems, and BOQ/costing preparation.
– Robust client-facing communication and presentation skills — comfortable explaining design and cost trade-offs directly to clients.
– Comfortable working within a CRM- and WhatsApp-based lead workflow and meeting defined response-time SLAs.
Reporting & Growth Path
This role reports to the Design Head and is part of Renewit's Q1 hiring cohort. Following onboarding, role training, and a shadow period alongside the Design Head, the Interior Designer is expected to take independent ownership of a first live project — with the Design Head remaining available for design-standard reviews and escalations.
