- We are looking for an experienced Fleet Manager to oversee and optimize our transportation and fleet operations for the Building Material business.
- The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in managing commercial vehicle fleets, transportation planning, vehicle maintenance, dispatch operations, fuel management, and statutory compliance.
- The candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely deliveries, reducing transportation costs, maximizing vehicle utilization, and maintaining high operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage end-to-end fleet operations for company-owned and hired commercial vehicles.
- Plan and monitor daily dispatches to ensure on-time deliveries to dealers, distributors, project sites, and warehouses.
- Optimize vehicle routing and load planning to maximize fleet utilization and reduce transportation costs.
- Ensure preventive maintenance schedules and timely servicing of all vehicles.
- Monitor vehicle health, breakdowns, repairs, and maintenance expenses.
- Manage fuel consumption, mileage tracking, and implement fuel cost optimization initiatives.
- Supervise drivers, transport coordinators, and logistics support staff.
- Ensure compliance with RTO regulations, permits, insurance, pollution certificates, fitness certificates, and road tax requirements.
- Coordinate with transport vendors and negotiate freight rates and transportation contracts.




- Monitor GPS tracking systems and ensure efficient vehicle movement.
- Maintain records related to fleet operations, maintenance history, fuel logs, accident reports, and statutory documentation.
- Investigate vehicle breakdowns, accidents, and delivery delays while implementing corrective actions.
- Develop transportation KPIs and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports.
- Ensure adherence to road safety standards and company safety policies.
- Coordinate with warehouse, sales, and supply chain teams for smooth logistics operations.
- Control transportation budgets while maintaining high service levels.

Required Skills

- Strong experience in fleet and transport management.
- Knowledge of commercial vehicle maintenance and preventive maintenance planning.
- Experience in logistics operations within the Building Material, Cement, Steel, Construction, Infrastructure, or Manufacturing industry.
- Robust understanding of GPS tracking systems and fleet management software.
- Knowledge of RTO documentation, permits, insurance, and statutory compliance.
- Excellent vendor management and freight negotiation skills.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills.
- Leadership abilities with experience managing drivers and transport teams.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP, and fleet management systems.
