Job Title: Quality Inspector
Department: Quality Control / Quality Assurance
Reporting To: Quality Control In-Charge / Quality Manager

Job Summary
The Quality Inspector is responsible for performing incoming, in-process, first article, and final inspections to ensure products conform to engineering drawings, customer specifications, and applicable quality standards. The role involves the use of precision measuring instruments, maintaining inspection records, identifying non-conformities, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to ensure customer satisfaction and product quality.

Key Responsibilities
Inspection Activities

- Perform Incoming Material Inspection, In-Process Inspection, First Article Inspection (FAI), and Final Inspection as per inspection plans and quality procedures.
- Verify dimensions, tolerances, surface finish, and other product characteristics against engineering drawings and customer requirements.
- Conduct visual, dimensional, and functional inspections of products and components.
- Ensure only conforming products are released for the next process or customer dispatch.

Documentation & Records

- Prepare and maintain:
- First Article Inspection (FAI) Reports
- Dimensional Inspection Reports
- In-Process Inspection Reports
- Final Inspection Reports
- Non-Conformance Reports (NCR)
- Rework and Rejection Records

- Maintain accurate inspection and quality records in accordance with company procedures.
- Ensure traceability requirements are maintained throughout the inspection process.

Measurement & Calibration Control

- Use precision measuring instruments such as:
- Vernier Calipers
- Micrometers
- Height Gauges
- Bore Gauges
- Dial Indicators
- Thread Gauges
- Surface Roughness Testers
- Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) (if applicable)





- Verify that all Test, Measuring, and Monitoring Equipment (TMME) are calibrated and within validity periods.
- Report damaged or out-of-calibration instruments to the Quality In-Charge.

Non-Conformance Management

- Identify, segregate, and report non-conforming materials and products.
- Raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and support corrective and preventive actions.
- Participate in root cause analysis and problem-solving activities.
- Verify effectiveness of corrective actions implemented.

Supplier & Incoming Material Quality

- Inspect incoming raw materials, components, and outsourced products.
- Verify supplier documentation, certificates, and material traceability records.
- Approve or reject incoming materials based on inspection results and specifications.

Quality System Compliance

- Ensure compliance with company Quality Management System requirements.
- Support internal audits, customer audits, and certification audits.
- Adhere to ISO 9001, AS9100D, customer-specific requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.
- Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean inspection area.

Authority

- Approve or reject incoming materials, in-process products, and finished products based on inspection results.
- Hold or segregate non-conforming products.
- Escalate quality concerns to the Quality In-Charge or Quality Manager.
- Recommend corrective actions for quality issues.





Accountability

- Accuracy of inspection results and reports.
- Compliance with customer and quality requirements.
- Proper maintenance of quality records and documentation.
- Reduction of defects, rework, and customer complaints.
- Effective control of non-conforming products.
- Calibration compliance of measuring equipment.

Qualifications
Education

- Diploma / Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Metrology, or a related technical field.
- Certification in Quality Control, Metrology, or GD&T; is preferred.

Experience

- Minimum 2 years - 5 years of experience in Quality Inspection within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in aerospace, automotive, precision machining, or engineering industries is preferred.

Required Skills & Knowledge

- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T.;
- Knowledge of quality inspection methods and measurement techniques.
- Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments.
- Understanding of FAI, in-process inspection, and final inspection requirements.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100D, and customer quality requirements.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good documentation and report preparation skills.
- Basic computer proficiency (MS Office, ERP/QMS systems).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- First-pass acceptance rate.
- Inspection accuracy and reporting quality.
- Number of customer complaints and internal defects.
- Timely completion of inspection activities.
- Calibration compliance rate.
- Non-conformance closure effectiveness.
