Role & responsibilities
About the Role
We are an ambitious, fast-growing Engineering Design Center Startup. We are looking for versatile, self-driven Product Designers and Injection Mould Designers who can handle end-to-end design challengesfrom plastic part creation to full mould assembly tool design for both Automotive and Non-Automotive (Consumer Goods, Industrial) sectors.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
1. Plastic Product Design
- Design 3D plastic components for automotive (interiors, exteriors, under-hood) and non-automotive/industrial applications using Siemens NX.
- Apply plastic design rules (draft angles, wall thickness, ribs, bosses, snap fits, parting lines) to ensure part feasibility.
2. Injection Mould & Assembly Design
- Design complete 3D injection moulds (2-plate, 3-plate, hot runner, lifters, sliders, side cores, cooling, and ejection systems) using NX Mold Wizard.
- Manage complex 3D Top-Down Assemblies, ensuring proper assembly structure, clearance/interference checks, and accurate Bill of Materials (BOM) creation.
3. DFM & Engineering Analysis
- Perform rigorous DFM (Design for Manufacturability) and DFMEA analysis prior to tooling release.
- Analyze wall thickness variations, draft feasibility, warpage, sink marks, and collaborate on mold flow results.
- Prepare 2D manufacturing drawings with GD&T; for tool rooms and component production.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Education: B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical / Production Engineering OR Diploma / Post-Diploma in Tool Design (CIPET / NTTF / GTTC or equivalent).
- Software Mastery: Mandatory proficiency in Siemens NX and hands-on experience using NX Mold Wizard.
- Domain Experience: Experience in both Automotive and Non-Automotive / Consumer Goods plastic product or tool design.
- Key Strengths:
- In-depth knowledge of DFM rules for plastic injection molding.
- Hands-on experience with large assembly management and parametric modeling.
- Understanding of plastic materials (PP, ABS, PC, Nylon, etc.) and shrinkage dynamics.
- Startup Mindset: Adaptable, eager to learn, ownership-driven, and comfortable working in a dynamic design center environment.
