Job Summary
Applix is seeking an experienced IT Manufacturing Systems Engineer to support and maintain manufacturing applications and plant IT infrastructure for global manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have strong experience supporting manufacturing environments, managing plant infrastructure, troubleshooting production systems, and collaborating with business stakeholders and global IT teams to ensure high system availability, operational excellence, and continuous service improvement. This role requires expertise in manufacturing applications, IT infrastructure, ITSM processes, cybersecurity, and manufacturing operations support.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with business stakeholders and manufacturing teams to understand operational requirements and translate business needs into IT solutions.
Support enterprise IT demand management processes by gathering, documenting, and validating business and technical requirements.
Lead or contribute to manufacturing IT projects, ensuring delivery within agreed scope, timeline, quality, and budget.
Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot manufacturing applications including MES, Kepware, Pinpoint, Industrial IoT, and other production systems.
Administer and support manufacturing IT infrastructure including:
LAN/WAN Networks
VMware / Hyper-V Virtual Servers
Windows Servers
Firewalls
Voice & Plant Connectivity
Perform Incident, Problem, and Change Management activities following ITIL/ITSM best practices.
Conduct root cause analysis for recurring production incidents and implement preventive solutions.
Validate manufacturing applications and infrastructure during deployments, upgrades, and change implementations.
Monitor system health, identify operational risks, and implement mitigation strategies to improve service reliability.
Coordinate vulnerability remediation activities across applications, servers,
OT devices, operating systems, and software components.
Work closely with cybersecurity, infrastructure, and application teams to maintain compliance with enterprise security standards.
Provide Level 2/Level 3 production support and participate in on-call support rotation when required.
Maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and operational procedures.
Continuously identify opportunities for process automation and operational improvements.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
5+ years of experience supporting manufacturing IT environments.
Hands-on experience supporting manufacturing applications and production IT infrastructure.
Strong knowledge of Windows Server administration, virtualization, networking, and firewall management.
Practical experience with ITIL/ITSM processes including Incident, Problem, and Change Management.
Experience performing root cause analysis and driving continuous service improvements.
Excellent end-user support and stakeholder communication skills.
Strong verbal and written English communication.
Preferred
Qualifications
Experience supporting Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
Knowledge of manufacturing processes and shop-floor operations.
Experience with Kepware, Pinpoint, or Industrial IoT solutions.
Exposure to Operational Technology (OT) environments.
ERP experience (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar).
Understanding of cybersecurity practices in manufacturing environments.
ITIL Foundation or relevant infrastructure certifications are an added advantage.
