Responsibilities

Yard Operations Management

- Supervise and manage all activities related to material receiving, storage, stacking, dispatch, and movement within the yard.

- Ensure optimum yard space utilization while maintaining safety and operational efficiency.

- Monitor inbound and outbound cargo activities to support seamless EXIM operations.

- Coordinate with transporters, freight forwarders, customs agents, and warehouse teams for smooth cargo flow.

Inventory &

- Material Control

- Maintain accurate records of inventory, stock positions, and yard occupancy.

- Conduct periodic physical verification of materials and reconcile discrepancies.

- Ensure proper identification, tagging, and traceability of materials stored in the yard.

- Monitor aging inventory and recommend corrective actions.

Documentation &

- Compliance

- Ensure compliance with customs regulations, EXIM policies, statutory requirements, and company SOPs.

- Maintain accurate documentation related to import/export consignments.

- Coordinate with customs, port authorities, and regulatory agencies whenever required.

- Support audit requirements and compliance reviews.

Process Improvement &

- R&D; Activities

- Analyze yard operations and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce turnaround time.

- Develop and monitor yard performance metrics and dashboards.





- Identify opportunities for automation, digitization, and optimization of yard management processes.

- Drive continuous improvement projects related to inventory management, safety, and operational excellence.

Team Management

- Lead, mentor, and develop yard supervisors, operators, and contract workforce.

- Ensure manpower planning and deployment as per operational requirements.

- Conduct performance reviews and identify training needs.

Health, Safety &

- Workplace

- Ensure adherence to safety standards and operational guidelines.

- Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments.

- Promote a zero-incident culture within the yard.

- Ensure proper housekeeping and environmental compliance.

Coordination &

- Stakeholder Management

- Liaise with internal departments including Procurement, Logistics, Sales, Finance, Quality, and Operations.

- Ensure timely resolution of operational issues impacting import/export shipments.

- Support business continuity through proactive planning and execution.

Qualifications

- 5-8 years of experience in Yard Operations, Warehouse Management, Logistics, Shipping, Ports, ICD/CFS, or EXIM operations.

- Experience in handling import-export documentation and customs-related processes.

- Prior team management experience preferred.
