JOB DESCRIPTION
Assistant Manager / Deputy Manager - Instrumentation
The Assistant Manager / Deputy Manager - Instrumentation is responsible for the planning, Valve Automation Systems and associated control accessories, ensuring compliance with customer requirements, industry standards, and project specifications. The role involves executing order Valve Automation Systems activities, managing engineering changes, and providing technical support across functions.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review P&IDs;, hook-up drawings, instrument datasheets, and related engineering documents.
- Possess thorough knowledge of valve positioners, including Fisher, Samson, ABB, Siemens, Rotork, Yokogawa, and similr products.
- Select and specify solenoid valves, I/P converters, air preparation units, and other instrumentation accessories.
- Interpret and review P&IDs;, loop diagrams, and instrumentation drawings.
- Troubleshoot and resolve P&IDs-related; issues on the shop floor.
- Provide technical guidance to the Sales and Marketing teams for product selection and ensure the most suitable solutions are proposed to customers.
- Perform actuator and accessory sizing based on valve torque requirements and operating time specifications, with orifice sizing calculation accordance with project and application requirements.
- Possess knowledge of various actuator types, including Rack & Pinion, Scotch Yoke, and other actuator mechanisms, along with their operating principles.
- Prepare, review, and interpret pneumatic schematics, circuit diagrams, and pneumatic symbols.
- Review, develop, verify, and approve engineering drawings, specifications, calculations, and related technical documentation.
- Manage multiple projects and priorities while working independently and effectively
- Manage routine and project engineering activities, including preparation and verification of Circuit diagram drawings, process documents,
Bills of Materials (BOMs), Installation, Operation & Maintenance (IOM) manuals, and testing procedures.
- Organize regular meetings and training programs for engineers and staff to address technical challenges and improve operational effectiveness.
- Collaborate with and lead cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives, including coordination with Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain Management (SCM), and Quality Assurance (QA).
RELATIONSHIPS & AUTHORITY
- Report directly to the GM - Engineering.
- Work closely with the Engineering team, Sales and Marketing teams, and Production departments, including Assembly, Machining, and Purchasing.
- Maintain engineering documentation supporting product design, company standards, and regulatory requirements through appropriate Product Data Management (PDM) systems.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or an equivalent technical discipline, with 8-12 years of relevant engineering experience.
- Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems will be an added advantage.
- Sound knowledge of fluid mechanics, pneumatics, and pneumatic symbols.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software, including SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Experience in valve automation, actuator sizing, instrumentation systems, and control accessories is preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position is primarily office-based; however, periodic travel to Company facilities, customer sites, vendor locations, and other company locations may be required as business needs dictate.
