Role Description The Import Specialist role at Keos is a contract position based in Mumbai with a hybrid work arrangement, combining on-site collaboration with some work-from-home flexibility. In this role, the specialist manages and coordinates import activities, including preparing and reviewing documentation, ensuring compliance with international trade regulations, and tracking shipments from suppliers to local facilities.
Day-to-day responsibilities include liaising with customs agents, logistics partners, and internal teams to resolve issues, optimize delivery timelines, and maintain accurate records.
The Import
Specialist also assists with import-export documentation and supports customer service teams by providing shipment status updates and addressing import-related inquiries. This position requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Experience in import operations, including Import and Import Export processes, with a solid understanding of documentation and compliance requirements.
- Knowledge of Export procedures and International Trade regulations, preferably within the apparel or consumer goods industry.
- Solid Customer Service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with suppliers, logistics partners, and internal teams.
- Proficiency in using ERP or logistics management systems, and strong skills in MS Excel or similar tools for tracking and reporting.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines, with strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Relevant academic background in International Business, Supply Chain Management, Commerce, or a related field is preferred.
- Prior experience in a hybrid work setting and readiness to work from the Mumbai office as required.
