Sify Infinit Spaces Limited was created as a subsidiary to house all investments into the Data Center space, specifically colocation. Data Center Mechanical Engineer (HVAC SME)

Position Summary The Data Center Mechanical Engineer HVAC SME will be responsible for the design, engineering, technical review, and implementation support of mechanical systems for mission-critical Data Center facilities. The role focuses on delivering reliable, energy-effective,



and scalable cooling infrastructure that supports high-density IT environments while maintaining industry-leading availability standards.

The position will coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders throughout design, construction, commissioning, and project delivery, while providing technical solutions for engineering and site execution challenges. The role requires close collaboration with multidisciplinary engineering teams, consultants, contractors, equipment manufacturers, and project stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

- Review and approve HVAC and cooling system designs, calculations, specifications, and technical deliverables prepared by consultants and OEMs.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, ASHRAE, TIA-942, Uptime Institute, applicable codes, and industry best practices.
- Provide technical oversight for Data Center cooling systems, including chilled water plants, air-cooled chillers, CRAH/CRAC/FWU/PAHU, CDUs, Direct Liquid Cooling (DLC), Liquid Immersion Cooling (LIC), and SFN systems.
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors, OEMs, architects, structural, electrical, controls, and project teams to resolve design interfaces and technical issues.
- Support value engineering, design optimization, and technical decision-making to enhance system performance, reliability, and maintainability.
- Provide engineering support during construction, commissioning, FAT, SAT, and Integrated Systems Testing (IST), including resolution of site execution issues and technical deviations.
- Review shop drawings, material submittals,



RFIs, and engineering change requests to ensure alignment with approved design intent.
- Participate in technical bid evaluations, vendor assessments, and equipment selection.
- Develop and maintain engineering standards, specifications, and best practices for Data Center mechanical systems.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 6–10 years of experience in HVAC engineering, including at least 3 years in Data Center or other mission-critical facilities.
- Experience in hyperscale, colocation, enterprise, or high-density Data Center projects.
- Experience in consultant design review, multidisciplinary coordination, construction support, and commissioning.

Technical Expertise

- Data Center HVAC and cooling systems
- Chilled water and air-cooled chiller plants
- Precision cooling systems (CRAH/CRAC/FWU/PAHU)
- Direct Liquid Cooling (DLC), Liquid Immersion Cooling (LIC), CDUs, and SFN systems
- HVAC system review, hydraulic principles, redundancy strategies (N, N+1, 2N), and energy-efficient cooling solutions
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit/BIM, HVAC design software, and CFD analysis tools
