About Own Door:
Own Door is a pioneering Property Management-as-a-Service provider based in India, partnering with leading property management companies across the United States. One of our key client partners, Next Brick, manages over 700 residential properties across Washington and that's just one example of the scale we operate at. We deliver comprehensive operational support that transforms how our partners do business.
Our mission is simple but powerful: “Manage Business, Not Properties.” We believe in transparent, technology-driven, and customer-focused solutions that create meaningful value for our clients and the communities they serve. We're not just managing properties we’re reshaping how property management works at scale, leveraging cutting-edge technology for operational efficiency and building a reputation for excellence that's opening doors across the industry. As we grow, we're expanding our HR team and looking for an HR Business Partner to drive collaboration across multiple processes.
Role Purpose:
This role exists to be the single point of ownership on the floor for every process, every deliverable, and every person delivering it. The HR Business Partner is not a supervisory or oversight role in name or in spirit. The person will be embedded in the business, know every process end-to-end, and work shoulder-to-shoulder with contractors and the Next Brick team to get the job done, not by policing people, but by removing blockers, owning coordination, and holding the floor accountable to its numbers.
The HRBP is the connective tissue between what happens on the floor and what leadership sees in performance reviews. They convert daily floor reality attendance, output, gaps, escalations into a clean, monthly data trail that feeds directly into performance evaluations and Individual Development Plans (IDPs), so that by the time CHRO and leadership sit down to review people, the story is already substantiated.
Reports To: Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO)
Location: Gurugram (On-site, floor-based)
Shift: Night Shift — 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM
Transport:
Company cab provided (pick-up & drop)
Qualification & Experience Required: Post Graduate – HR Specialization & 3-5years, core HRBP experience
Key Responsibilities:
Process Ownership & Floor Coordination:
- Learn and internalize every process running on the floor to the point of being the go-to person for “how does this work” and “who owns this” at any hour of the shift.
- Act as the natural coordination hub across contractors and process leads to keep work moving, unblock issues in real time, and prevent small gaps from becoming missed deliverables.
Partner closely with the Next Brick team on a daily basis • to align on priorities, resolve dependencies, and ensure the shift's output meets agreed efficiency and deliverable standards.
Accountability & Performance Data:
- Track individual and team output against agreed deliverables/SLAs for every contractor on the floor.
- Translate day-to-day floor performance into structured, monthly performance statistics per contractor.
- Own the monthly IDP (Individual Development Plan) update for each contractor, ensuring it reflects actual observed performance and development areas.
- Ensure this performance and IDP data flows cleanly and consistently into the formal review process, so CHRO and leadership have a ready, credible data set when reviewing individuals, no reconstruction or chasing data after the fact.
Attendance & Continuity Management:
- Own real-time attendance tracking for the shift: who is present, absent, or on a callout.
- For any absence or callout,
identify and action a same-day backfill plan so deliverables are not impacted this includes knowing who can flex into a gap and coordinating that handoff.
- For planned or long leave, proactively build a coverage plan in advance how the work will be redistributed or resourced for the duration of the absence.
- Document and share these contingency/backfill plans with leadership as and when such situations arise, rather than after the fact, leadership should never be surprised by a coverage gap.
Business Partnering. Not Supervision:
- Build genuine working relationships with contractors based on trust and problem-solving, not oversight.
- Represent the floor's realities and constraints back to leadership, and represent leadership's expectations back to the floor, in both directions with equal weight.
- Be deliberate in tone, language, and day-to-day presence so the role is felt as a partner embedded in getting work done,
never as a supervisory or watchdog function.
Reporting & Escalation:
- Provide the CHRO with a consistent monthly rhythm of performance stats, IDP updates, attendance trends, and coverage plans.
- Flag emerging risks early recurring absenteeism, process bottlenecks, deliverable slippage
- Maintain accurate, audit-ready records to support performance evaluation cycles.
Skills & Attributes:
- Strong process orientation, genuinely curious about how work gets done, not just about managing people.
- High accountability mindset; comfortable holding others accountable through relationship and clarity rather than authority.
- Sharp with data, able to build and maintain clean, monthly performance and attendance data sets.
- Excellent stakeholder management.
- High emotional intelligence and discretion, able to build trust with contractors while still driving hard on deliverables.
