Mercola is growing in India, and we’re looking for a hands-on HR Manager to help us do it right.
As one of our first People hires on the ground, you’ll do a bit of everything — hiring great people, running smooth onboarding and payroll, handling day-to-day employee relations, and keeping us compliant with local law.
This is a build-and-operate role in a start-up-style environment: no big team beneath you, just the chance to own the work, move fast, and grow with the company. If you like variety, roll-up-your-sleeves problem solving, and being the person people count on, this one’s for you.

Role Snapshot
Location / Schedule: Remote within India, Full time
Purpose: Run Mercola’s day-to-day People operations in India as a hands-on generalist — recruiting, onboarding, payroll, employee relations, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Own full-cycle recruiting for India roles — sourcing, screening, coordinating interviews, and closing offers.
- Run smooth onboarding so new hires are set up, supported, and productive from week one.
- Manage payroll inputs and coordinate with the payroll provider; keep benefits and records accurate.
- Handle everyday employee relations — questions, concerns, and simple investigations — fairly and discreetly.
- Keep us compliant with Indian labor law and statutory requirements (PF, ESI, gratuity, POSH, etc.); maintain policies, contracts, and handbooks.
- Maintain HRIS data (Dayforce)
and keep employee records clean and current.
- Support engagement and culture initiatives that reflect Mercola’s wellness-focused, transparent values.
- Partner with global HR and local leaders on process and day-to-day people needs.
Must-Have Qualifications
- 5 years of hands-on HR generalist experience in India.
- Direct experience across most of: recruiting, onboarding, payroll, employee relations, and compliance.
- Working knowledge of Indian labor law and statutory benefits.
- Comfortable operating independently in a fast-paced, start-up-style environment with limited process.
- Familiarity with an HRIS (Dayforce a plus) and solid, clear communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree; HR certification or MBA/PGDM a plus, not required.
What We Offer
- Mission-driven culture rooted in wellness and empowerment.
- A broad, hands-on role where you own the work and see your impact.
- Global collaboration and real visibility as we grow in India.
- Hybrid flexibility and a people-first environment.
Honest Challenge You’ll be a team of one for much of the day-to-day — recruiter, onboarder, payroll coordinator, and first point of contact all at once. If you like variety, don’t need a big team around you, and enjoy building simple structure where there’s little today, you’ll do well here.
