- Conduct on-site supplier audits to assess manufacturing capabilities, quality management systems, and technical capacity.
- Evaluate vendor risk based on process capability, financial stability, and historical performance metrics.
- Onboard new suppliers by establishing clear quality agreements, inspection standards, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Part Qualification & Process Validation
- Lead the PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) and APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) activities for current or modified parts.
- Review technical blueprints and engineering drawings to ensure supplier manufacturing processes align with tolerance limits.
- Verify validation protocols at supplier level
Quality Control & Performance Monitoring
- Track supplier KPIs such as Defect Rates (PPM), On-Time Delivery, and Supplier Corrective Action Request (SCAR) response times.
- Review incoming materials data and inspect shipments when non-conformance issues arise.
- Issue and monitor SCARs, ensuring vendors perform robust root-cause analyses using frameworks like 8D, 5 Whys, or Fishbone diagrams.
Continuous Improvement & Vendor Collaboration
- Provide technical guidance and training to suppliers to reduce defect rates, optimize production lines, and lower overall waste.
- Drive quality initiatives at supplier facilities to improve throughput and component reliability.
- Act as the main technical liaison between internal engineering teams, procurement, and external manufacturing partners.
Preferred candidate profile:
BE (Mech/Elect/Instrumentation) with 4 to 6 years of experience.
Experience in a similar position is preferred.
