Candidate should be from the automobile manufacturing sector We are looking to recruit a highly competent and experienced professional for the position of Unit Head for our manufacturing facility at Bagru. Position: Unit Head

Role & Responsibilities:

Head the manufacturing unit and provide overall leadership to Production, Engineering, Maintenance, Tool Room, Quality, Stores, and other support functions.

Lead a team of engineers, supervisors, and workmen to achieve excellence in safety, quality, productivity, cost, delivery, and employee development.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with all statutory, quality, and environmental requirements.

Educational Qualification

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering. Experience:

Minimum 20 years of relevant experience in an engineering manufacturing company, with substantial exposure to the steel industry.

Must have held a senior leadership position with responsibility for managing an entire manufacturing unit or plant.

Technical Knowledge & Competencies:

Strong knowledge of

National and international steel standards, including BS EN, JIS, ASTM, and IS specifications, with the ability to ensure compliance in manufacturing and quality systems Mechanical, metallurgical, and quality testing facilities, including Universal Testing Machines (UTM), Charpy Impact Testing, Hardness Testing, Tensile and Bend Testing, Optical Emission Spectrometers (OES), Metallurgical Microscopes,



and other laboratory and inspection equipment used for testing and quality assurance of steel products in accordance with national and international standards.

Metallurgy, Heat treatment processes and material properties.

Production planning and line balancing.

Manufacturing process optimization and productivity improvement.

Plant maintenance and engineering management.

Metrology and advanced measuring systems such as FARO scanner, CMM, laser measurement systems, and other precision inspection technologies.

Quality Systems & Certifications:

The candidate should possess sound working knowledge and implementation experience of:

IATF 16949 Automotive Quality Management System.

ISO 9001 Quality Management System.

ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.

ISO 45001 Occupational Health & Safety Management System.

The candidate should also be thoroughly conversant with the quality requirements of automotive component manufacturers, including:

APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning)

PPAP (Production Part Approval Process)

FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis)

Control Plans

SPC (Statistical Process Control)

MSA (Measurement System Analysis)

Root Cause Analysis and Continuous Improvement methodologies.

Leadership & Administrative Skills:

Robust administrative and organizational abilities.

Proven leadership qualities with the capability to build, motivate, and develop high-performing teams.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and decision-making skills.

Ability to drive operational excellence through Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, TPM, and other continuous improvement initiatives.
