Position: General Manager, Operational Excellence & Production Control

Experience

· Minimum 5 years in Supply Chain, 2+ years in Operational excellence role

· Strong in Operational excellence, production planning, demand and supply planning, sourcing, warehouse management, Requisites

· Valuable people leader and managed 50+ workforce under him. · Regional Language Tamil must Should be from Chennai OR should be ready to relocate to Chennai. It’s a hybrid position that demands a mix of high-level strategic optimization (Operational Excellence) and granular, day-to-day execution management (Production Control).

Role Objective

The primary goal is to synchronize production schedules with demand while relentlessly driving out waste. You will be responsible for ensuring that products are delivered on time and at the lowest possible cost, without sacrificing quality. You aren’t just managing the status quo; you are redesigning the "how" of the work. Key Responsibilities

1.

Operational

Excellence (OpEx) & Continuous Improvement

Lean Transformation: Identify and eliminate the "8 Wastes" (DOWNTIME) across the value stream.

Process Engineering: Facilitate Kaizen events and Gemba walks to optimize workflows and reduce cycle times.

Standard Work: Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs)



to ensure consistency and scalability.

Root Cause Analysis: Lead 5-Why or Fishbone investigations when production targets are missed to prevent recurrence.

Production

Control & Planning

Master Scheduling: Translate sales forecasts into actionable production plans, balancing machine capacity and labor availability.

Inventory Management: Oversee Raw Material, WIP (Work-in-Process), and Finished Goods levels to optimize cash flow and minimize stockouts.

Shop Floor Control: Monitor real-time production progress and pivot schedules rapidly when equipment breakdowns or supply chain delays occur.

Material Requirements Planning (MRP): Maintain data integrity within ERP/MRP systems to ensure accurate procurement and lead times.

Performance

Analytics (KPIs)

Track and report on critical metrics: OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), OTIF (On-Time In-Full), Yield, and Labor Productivity.

Design and manage visual management boards (Dashboards) to communicate performance to the shop floor.

Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, Lean Manufacturing, or APICS (CPIM/CSCP) preferred.

Technical

Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel.

Methodologies

Deep knowledge of 5S, Kanban, VSM (Value Stream Mapping), and Just-in-Time (JIT).

Soft Skills

High "change management" EQ; ability to influence veteran floor workers and executive leadership alike.
