We are looking for a hands-on UI/UX Designer who can create modern, intuitive and conversion-focused mobile and web experiences.
The selected candidate will work closely with product, engineering, operations and business teams to improve customer-facing apps, vendor apps, enterprise dashboards and internal platforms.
Role Overview
The UI/UX Designer will be responsible for understanding user problems and converting them into clear user journeys, wireframes, visual designs and interactive prototypes.
This is not a purely graphic-design role.
The candidate must be comfortable working on complete digital-product journeys involving:
- Product discovery
- Subscriptions
- Ordering
- Payments
- Checkout
- Dashboards
- Approvals
- Reports
- Vendor workflows
- Enterprise administration
- Internal operations
The candidate should be able to independently take a requirement from initial discussion to engineering-ready design.
Key Responsibilities
User experience and product flows
- Understand business requirements and translate them into intuitive user journeys.
- Create information architecture, task flows and screen-level user flows.
- Identify usability problems in existing mobile and web applications.
- Simplify complex business and operational workflows.
- Design for customer, vendor, enterprise-admin and internal-user personas.
- Consider edge cases, empty states, error states and alternate flows.
- Support usability testing and incorporate user feedback into designs.
Wireframing and prototyping
- Create low-fidelity and mid-fidelity wireframes before moving to visual design.
- Build interactive prototypes for important product journeys.
- Present design concepts and clearly explain design decisions.
- Validate flows with product, technology and business stakeholders.
- Iterate quickly based on feedback, technical constraints and user behaviour.
UI and visual design
- Create contemporary, clean and consistent interfaces for mobile and responsive web applications.
- Establish clear visual hierarchy and prominent conversion actions.
- Design forms, cards, lists, dashboards, tables, filters and navigation patterns.
- Apply typography, spacing, colour,
imagery and iconography consistently.
- Ensure interfaces are accessible, responsive and practical for real-world users.
- Create designs suitable for Android, iOS and web environments.
- Maintain consistency across Mealawe, DeskDyne and Navmool products.
Design systems
- Create and maintain reusable components, patterns and design libraries.
- Define component states, variants, spacing rules and interaction behaviour.
- Ensure that commonly used UI elements are standardised across products.
- Work with engineering teams to improve alignment between design components and implemented frontend components.
- Document design-system usage and exceptions.
Conversion-focused design
- Improve product-discovery, subscription, cart and checkout experiences.
- Design prominent and clear calls to action.
- Improve pricing, discount, plan-comparison and add-on presentation.
- Reduce user confusion and unnecessary steps.
- Support A/B testing and experimentation with design alternatives.
- Use user behaviour and product analytics to improve conversion.
Engineering collaboration
- Prepare development-ready Figma files with proper naming, components and specifications.
- Provide responsive behaviour, interaction notes and design states.
- Work closely with frontend and mobile developers during implementation.
- Review developed screens against approved designs.
- Clarify requirements and resolve UI issues during development.
- Participate in design QA before release.
- Avoid designs that are visually attractive but operationally difficult to implement.
AI-assisted UI/UX design is mandatory
The selected candidate must actively use AI tools to accelerate the design and product-development process.
AI should be used for areas such as:
- UX research synthesis
- User-flow exploration
- Wireframe generation
- Layout and visual concept exploration
- UX writing and microcopy
- Content hierarchy
- Design variations
- Competitor analysis
- Accessibility review
- Usability-test preparation
- Edge-case identification
- Prototype development
- Design-to-code experimentation
- Faster documentation and engineering handover
Experience with tools such as the following will be preferred:
- Figma AI
- FigJam AI
- ChatGPT
- Claude
- Gemini
- v0
- Lovable
- Uizard
- Framer AI
- Bolt
- Relume
- Similar generative design or prototyping tools
The candidate must demonstrate the ability to review, refine and validate AI-generated output rather than using it without judgement.
Research on AI-assisted design also emphasises that human review remains important because generated interfaces and their stated design rationale may not always align.
Mandatory qualifications
- 3–5 years of professional experience in UI/UX design, product design or interaction design.
- BFA, MFA, Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Product Design, UI/UX Design, Interaction Design, Communication Design or an equivalent design discipline.
- Strong hands-on proficiency in Figma and FigJam.
- Experience creating user flows, wireframes, high-fidelity designs and clickable prototypes.
- Experience designing mobile applications and responsive web applications.
- Understanding of Android and iOS design conventions.
- Experience working directly with product managers, developers and QA teams.
- Ability to prepare detailed, engineering-ready design files.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating complete product journeys.
- Hands-on use of AI tools in UI/UX or product-development workflows.
- Understanding of design systems and reusable components.
Preferred experience
- Consumer mobile applications
- Subscriptions and recurring purchases
- Food-tech, e-commerce or marketplaces
- Payments, carts and checkout flows
- B2B SaaS platforms
- Enterprise dashboards
- CRM or internal operations platforms
- Logistics or supply-chain applications
- Startup or product-company environment
- Conversion optimisation and product analytics

- Master of Fine Arts
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Product Design
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in UI/UX Design
- Interaction Design

- Graphic design
- Social-media creatives
- Branding and marketing collateral

- Website templates without product-flow ownership
- Pure frontend development
