Purpose of the Position The Design Engineer shall be responsible for the complete engineering lifecycle of sheet metal forming machines, including concept development, machine design, engineering calculations, 3D modeling, manufacturing drawings, BOM preparation, machine optimization, cost reduction, and new product development. The role requires close coordination with Production, Purchase, Service, Sales, and Quality departments to ensure machines are innovative, manufacturable, cost-effective, reliable, and delivered on time.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

1. Machine Design & Development

- Design CNC Press Brakes, Hydraulic Press Brakes, Shearing Machines, Plate Rolling Machines, Hydraulic Presses, and Special Purpose Machines.
- Develop complete machine assemblies, sub-assemblies, and component designs.
- Create 3D models and detailed manufacturing drawings using NX, Solid Edge, AutoCAD, or similar CAD software.
- Perform engineering calculations related to machine structures, hydraulics, mechanisms, and load conditions.
- Ensure designs meet customer requirements and manufacturing feasibility.

1. Product Innovation & R&D;

- Participate in new product development projects.
- Develop innovative machine concepts to improve productivity and performance.
- Research emerging technologies and automation solutions.
- Evaluate competitor products and recommend improvements.
- Support development of next-generation machinery.

1. Manufacturing Engineering Support

- Ensure designs are easy to manufacture, assemble, and service.
- Resolve design issues arising during fabrication and assembly.
- Reduce manufacturing complexity through design simplification.




- Standardize machine components wherever possible.
- Support production teams in technical problem-solving.

1. Cost Optimization & Value Engineering

- Identify opportunities for reducing machine manufacturing costs.
- Optimize material selection without compromising quality.

- Participate in value engineering projects.

1. BOM & Documentation Control

- Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOM).
- Manage drawing revisions and engineering change records.
- Maintain engineering databases and technical documentation.
- Prepare machine manuals, technical specifications, and installation documents.
- Ensure document accuracy and revision control.

1. Vendor Development & Technical Support

- Coordinate with Purchase Department for technical evaluation of suppliers.
- Verify vendor drawings and component specifications.
- Support development of critical machine components.
- Evaluate technically suitable alternatives for purchased items.

1. Testing, Validation & Continuous Improvement

- Participate in machine trials and testing.
- Analyze machine performance and identify improvements.
- Conduct root-cause analysis of technical failures.
- Implement corrective and preventive engineering actions.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives.

1. Customer & Service Engineering Support

- Provide technical support to Sales and Service teams.
- Assist in machine customization according to customer requirements.
- Participate in customer technical discussions when required.
- Support machine commissioning and troubleshooting activities.

1. Cross-Functional Coordination





- Work closely with Production, Purchase, Planning, Service, Quality, and Sales teams.
- Support project execution and delivery schedules.
