Role & responsibilities

- Design and develop Packaging Machines and Special Purpose Machines (SPMs) based on customer requirements, technical specifications, and manufacturing standards.

- Perform Machine Design and Value Engineering to improve product performance, optimize manufacturing cost, enhance reliability, and simplify assembly.

- Prepare accurate 2D engineering drawings using AutoCAD, including detailed manufacturing, fabrication, machining, and assembly drawings.

- Develop complete 3D models, assemblies, and components using SolidWorks while ensuring design feasibility and compliance with engineering standards.

- Prepare and maintain detailed Bill of Materials (BOM), engineering documentation, part lists, revision records, and design change documentation.

- Perform engineering calculations, tolerance stack-up analysis, material selection, and component sizing to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable machine performance.

- Coordinate closely with the Purchase, Production, Quality, and Assembly teams to resolve design-related issues and ensure smooth manufacturing and assembly processes.

- Provide technical support during machine assembly, testing, installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting, ensuring successful project execution.

- Identify design improvements through Root Cause Analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions to enhance product quality and performance.

- Ensure all designs comply with company standards, customer specifications, safety requirements,



and applicable engineering practices.

- Participate in prototype development, machine trials, validation, and continuous product improvement initiatives.

- Manage multiple design projects simultaneously while ensuring timely completion, effective communication, and adherence to project schedules.

Preferred candidate profile

- 2 to 10+ years of experience in Machine Design, Packaging Machinery, or Special Purpose Machines (SPM).

- Solid proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD for 3D modeling and 2D drafting.

- Sound knowledge of machine design principles, mechanical components, manufacturing processes, and engineering standards.

- Experience in Sheet Metal Design, BOM Preparation, Design Calculations, and Tolerance Stack-Up Analysis.

- Familiarity with Value Engineering, Design Optimization, and Cost Reduction techniques.

- Hands-on experience supporting manufacturing, assembly, machine trials, installation, and troubleshooting.

- Ability to interpret technical specifications, customer requirements, and manufacturing drawings.

- Good analytical, problem-solving, and Root Cause Analysis skills.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and engineering documentation.

- Strong communication, teamwork, and coordination skills with cross-functional departments.

- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of handling multiple projects within deadlines.

- Candidates with experience in Packaging Machinery or other Special Purpose Machine (SPM) industries will be preferred.
