Key Responsibilities

- API Gateway Development & Management
- Configure and manage Kong Gateway for high-volume traffic.
- Build and management solutions across microservices.
- Develop custom Kong plugins using Lua or Go for performance and security.
- Deployment & Automation
- Automate build, deployment, and release workflows using CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins).
- Support containerized and Kubernetes-based environments.
- Observability & Monitoring
- Strengthen platform observability with Prometheus, Grafana, and logging solutions.
- Troubleshoot API performance, routing, and security issues.
- Collaboration & Governance
- Work with cross-functional teams (DevOps, Security, Cloud, Product).
- Define API standards, governance models, and lifecycle processes.

Required Skills

- Core Expertise
- Hands-on experience with Kong Gateway (OSS/Enterprise).
- Robust knowledge of API Management (Apigee,



MuleSoft, AWS API Gateway, Azure APIM, Tyk also valued).
- Proficiency in Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with multi-cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) or OpenShift.
- Programming & Integration
- Proficiency in Go, Lua, Python, Java, or Node.js for backend/integration logic.
- Experience with REST, GraphQL, event-driven architectures.

- Security
- Deep knowledge of OAuth2, JWT, mTLS, rate limiting, throttling.

Preferred Experience

- Years of Experience: Typically 5-10 years in API development, integration, or backend engineering.
- Certifications: Kong Certification is highly valued.
- Bonus Skills: Service mesh (Istio, Kuma), Kafka/event-driven systems, SaaS platform development
