Role Description The Data Science Mentor is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai. This role involves guiding learners through data science concepts, tools, and workflows, including statistics, programming, machine learning, and data visualization. The mentor will deliver interactive sessions, review assignments and projects, provide constructive feedback, and clarify doubts through one-on-one and group discussions.

Responsibilities also include designing or refining curriculum content, creating practice problems and case studies, and staying current with industry trends to keep content relevant.



The mentor will collaborate with other trainers and program managers to improve learning outcomes and support learners in becoming job-ready data professionals.

Qualifications

- Robust foundation in statistics and probability, including descriptive statistics, hypothesis testing, and basic inferential methods.
- Proficiency in programming for data science, preferably in Python or R, with experience using libraries such as NumPy, pandas, scikit-learn, or ggplot.
- Hands-on experience with machine learning techniques (supervised and unsupervised), model evaluation, and practical deployment concepts.
- Ability to work with data visualization tools and techniques to present findings clearly and effectively.
- Experience with real-world data projects, covering data cleaning, exploratory data analysis, and communicating insights to non-technical audiences.
- Excellent communication, mentoring, and classroom management skills, with the ability to explain complex topics in an accessible way.
- Prior teaching, training, or mentoring experience in data science, analytics, or related fields is highly preferred.
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Comfort working in an on-site, student-facing environment in Chennai and collaborating with cross-functional training teams.
