About The Role The Qualcomm CPU Software Architect role is a critical position within the engineering team, focused on developing and optimizing software that enhances the performance, energy efficiency, and scalability of Qualcomm’s compute products. As part of the Software Engineering group, you will work closely with cross-functional teams including CPU, DSP, and compiler teams to design, implement, and verify software solutions that meet stringent performance and power requirements.

Your expertise will be instrumental in running benchmarks, analyzing workloads, and troubleshooting performance bottlenecks to ensure the delivery of high-quality silicon products. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge advancements in CPU architecture and software development, impacting a broad spectrum of connected devices and platforms.

Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a strong educational background and extensive professional experience in software engineering.



Candidates should hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, with a minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience.

Alternatively, a Master’s degree with at least 3 years of experience or a PhD with 2 years of experience will also be considered. Proven expertise in programming languages such as C, C++, Java, or Python is essential, along with a deep understanding of software stacks including Linux internals and device drivers. Candidates with more than 10 years of experience in software engineering, particularly in performance optimization, hardware-software integration, and architecture, will be highly preferred.

Strong knowledge of computer architecture, operating systems, and low-level programming is required to excel in this role.

Responsibilities Leverage your knowledge of CPU architecture to develop and optimize high-performance, energy-efficient software solutions. Conduct comprehensive benchmarking and performance analysis to ensure that software meets both performance and power consumption targets.

Perform critical pre- and post-silicon verification activities, including running workloads and analyzing results to identify bottlenecks. Debug and resolve complex software performance issues, ensuring robustness and reliability. Collaborate effectively with CPU, DSP, and compiler teams to identify, develop, and implement solutions that enhance CPU performance.





Write detailed technical documentation, including test descriptions, specifications, and performance reports to facilitate ongoing development and verification processes. Continuously evaluate emerging technologies and methodologies to improve software performance and scalability across Qualcomm’s product portfolio.
