We are seeking an experienced Cohesity NetBackup (Alta Data Protection) Engineer to manage enterprise backup, recovery, and disaster recovery environments for a large-scale infrastructure.

The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in Cohesity NetBackup (formerly Veritas NetBackup), Alta Data Protection Suite, Azure Cloud, virtualization platforms, enterprise storage technologies, and disaster recovery strategies.

The role involves designing, implementing, optimizing, and supporting highly available backup solutions while ensuring business continuity and data security.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design, implement, administer, and optimize Cohesity NetBackup (formerly Veritas NetBackup) environments across enterprise infrastructure.
- Configure and manage Alta Data Protection, Alta View, and Alta Recovery Vault solutions.
- Develop and maintain enterprise backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies aligned with business requirements.
- Configure backup policies, schedules, retention periods, replication, and archival processes.
- Perform backup and recovery operations for VMware, Hyper-V, SQL Server, Oracle, Microsoft Exchange, and file systems.
- Monitor backup infrastructure, troubleshoot failures, and ensure maximum backup success rates.
- Manage Azure-based backup infrastructure, including networking, storage, RBAC, Microsoft Entra ID, Azure Monitor, and Cost Management.
- Implement disaster recovery solutions while ensuring RTO and RPO objectives are consistently achieved.
- Configure and support enterprise storage platforms including Data Domain, HPE StoreOnce, and Tape Libraries.
- Perform capacity planning, storage optimization, and performance tuning of backup environments.




- Automate routine backup administration using PowerShell, Bash, or scripting tools wherever applicable.
- Conduct regular DR drills, backup validation, and recovery testing.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, database, virtualization, and security teams to ensure seamless data protection.
- Maintain documentation, operational procedures, and compliance with enterprise backup standards.
- Provide L3 support for critical incidents and participate in major incident management.

Required Skills :

- 5+ years of experience in Enterprise Backup, Data Protection, and Disaster Recovery.
- Strong hands-on expertise in Cohesity NetBackup (formerly Veritas NetBackup).
- Experience with Alta Data Protection, Alta View, and Alta Recovery Vault.
- Extensive knowledge of Azure Cloud services, including Storage, Networking, RBAC, Microsoft Entra ID, Azure Monitor, and Cost Management.
- Solid experience with VMware and Hyper-V virtualization platforms.
- Expertise in protecting SQL Server, Oracle Database, Microsoft Exchange, and enterprise workloads.
- In-depth understanding of Disaster Recovery planning, Business Continuity, RTO, and RPO.
- Experience with enterprise storage solutions including Data Domain, StoreOnce, and Tape Libraries.
- Strong troubleshooting, performance tuning, and backup optimization skills.
- Knowledge of Windows and Linux server administration.
- Familiarity with scripting using PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Certifications:

- Cohesity NetBackup Certified Specialist
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator (AZ-104)
- ITIL Foundation Certification
- Veeam, Commvault, or Rubrik certifications will be an added advantage.
