Role Description The Chief Engineer is a full time, on-site role based at Hotel Lakend in Udaipur. This role oversees all engineering, maintenance, and technical operations of the property, ensuring optimal functioning of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and safety systems.

The Chief

Engineer leads and schedules the engineering team, manages preventive and corrective maintenance, and coordinates with external vendors and contractors as needed. Daily responsibilities include inspecting facilities, troubleshooting equipment issues, monitoring energy usage, and maintaining compliance with safety, fire, and environmental regulations. The role also involves managing budgets, maintaining inventory of tools and spare parts, supporting smooth execution of events and guest services,



and collaborating closely with other department leaders to uphold the hotel’s quality and service standards.

Qualifications

Candidates should possess strong facilities and engineering management skills, including experience with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.

Candidates should possess skills in maintenance planning, preventive maintenance programs, and troubleshooting technical issues in a hospitality or commercial environment.

Candidates should possess knowledge of safety, fire, and environmental regulations, along with practical experience implementing compliance and risk mitigation measures.

Candidates should possess team leadership and people management skills, including the ability to train, supervise, and motivate engineering staff effectively.

Candidates should possess budget management, vendor coordination, and inventory control skills to optimize costs and ensure timely availability of resources.

Candidates should possess strong communication, documentation, and collaboration skills to work effectively with hotel management and other departments.

Diploma or degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, civil, or related field) from a recognized institution is preferred.

Prior experience as a Chief Engineer or senior engineering role in a hotel or large property is highly beneficial.

Ability to work flexible hours when required, including responding promptly to emergencies and critical maintenance situations.
